try the lost site, they have a good calculator.

Why do you want it for a 9' most Lbs are way above the volume range anyway.

I'll save you the trouble mate, just go 9'1 x 23 x 3 with a wide nose with a little bit of concave to help move ya up front. Bound to go great

Otherwise I've used Firewire...but I pretty much know I like 33-38 Lt (for shorties) depending on the board width(s) & waves. Similar story with longbaords, only I think it matters more about the waves your riding & what you want. Performance, Nose rider or All rounder. South Queensland, probably an all rounder, so a bit of rocker for those sucky barrels you guys are spoilt with

I can have a play around for you Mac on Shaper 3D. But I think you should download it and have a play yourself - its a very good learning exercise. You get a real feel for what impacts volume most.

On the reply from ted, I went and had a google and search

"In the Pink"
9.1 x 23 x 2.9 = 79ltr

mac you have your boards on file at mact. i assume they are making this 'shortboard' for you.

wouldn't they have all the info you require.

can't you sit down with one of the dudes down there and play around with their shaping program for shape and volume.

its not rocket science, its how most custom boards are done. .

Ah ok, are you going short? Below 9ft?

The FireWire site also has a volume thing that matches up to there boards.

I think Vanders said something like 90 or 95 (for his white one with greenish stripes) the other day. My shortboards are well under half that! SP could probably ride one 1/3 of that if not smaller !

What are you running in yours Mac? Come on give us the complete quiver

hotlog just under 70 lts- it was so i could knee paddle it. hp- i don't know, a fair bit less. 6' nano 38 lts - way to much , but i can deal with it from my 666 playing. used to get down to 26 to27 lts at 75 kgs weigth

Green/white stripe 10' = 92lts
New white 10'2 = 94.5lts
Coloured 9'6 = 86lts

Had a good discussion about this the other day with Macca, he's about 75kgs & is riding boards with volumes around 90lts, he said volume is your friend as long as the board is shaped to make it useable to the rider. Mac I believe you've seen him ride & he apparently doesn't struggle on big volume boards.

Don't tell me you're thinking of a new different style of board for a new break??

We need to be hitting Northern NSW more often now I've seen the light. NO CROWDS!!!!!!!

Thanks for the info guy's,those litres are massive but make sense.I've seen macca surf and no wonder he can dance on the floor so well.

You know you can put a cat amongst the pigeons by introducing a board to the quiver,in my case the Pinnacle has,its such an outstanding board, there
has been no need to ride the Cruise since it arrived, does everything asked in small to mid size waves, even better now with the new fin.I'm also a massive fan of the mct 07 rocker and I don't have one in my quiver anymore. The evoII is another outstanding board which has the 08 rocker. We have booked an Hawaiian trip also.I'm looking at a quiver adjustment. As much as I love the Cruiser its been racked for months however I'll keep it because I know I would be dirty dropping this board.

So I'm thinking,evo II with 07 rocker 9.6 x 23 x 3 ,this board would be very similar to the Splice and a evoII 9.3 x 23 x 3 1/8 with the 08 rocker.

9'5'' or 9'6'' is a big board to try and throw around sure keep them in you"re quiver but when you then ride a eg. 9'2'' pulled in nose/tail ,less width same thickness i'm sure you'll be surprised as its not too hard after all to get waves in the right conditions of course and for me its like riding a 8fter.
