Have to agree. What more do the people want haha. It's metro. It can't be hyped. Make the most of it.

I had a pretty fun (although backwash filled) sesh out at perths 2nd favorite beachie this arvo. Definitely a lot better than the morning surf. Saw one guy get an absolute cracker, made it after disappearing a couple of times. Figured he must have glued the board to his feet. Also a decent number of snapped boards!

Epic swell...................then what a f%$king long board surf comp thats locks out the point and another SUP surf comp that attempts to lock out the bay F&^k off you w@nkers

Watched set wave after set waves get missed as the long boarders mostly out of their league..........told same for tomorrow.

Well it has been the biggest clean swell for a couple of years down here probably. Maybe 20 months or so. But I was away for 6 months last year so I don't know what happened in the second half of the year.

Seriously though, it doesn't get much better than this ever for Perth. 3.5 metre swell and all day offshore's covering the weekend. I had a cracker of a session with Buster at a sketchy spot and scored the biggest waves I've had in years and we both made it back to the boat in one piece which was awesome. So stoked!

I was expecting a few boats to go adrift/get swamped from being anchored to close/not enough scope with such a big swell. But all said there was one that got swamped offshore at Hillarys and that was it from what I've heard.. Not bad really

Ive loved seeing all the picks though

I'm happy, hype or not.

Surely a blessing in disguise, IFocus, not having to surf that fat wave with all the sups ...

Surely all you happy campers didn't surf the closeout backwash infested overcrowded crap at Scarborough this morning...it was utter shizen x 10. 2 hours and not one wave to even commit to memory of the swell of the decade
luckily later in the day at a secret northern spot cunningly called the same name , secret by metro standards as only 40+ punters found it all was redeemed and joyful beers at the Seaview on the way home topped it off

This wasn't even close to best swell I've ever seen in Perth. There was a certain swell on the 20/05/2013 that left this one for dead plus many others that have been way bigger and way cleaner

Good for you. Glad you had waves back in the day that meant every other surf for the rest of your life is a disappointment. Feel bad for you that you can't appreciate a good day when it wanders in. Doesn't detract from the fact that today was a pretty good day for the whole west coast having good waves even if it doesn't make you smile. I refer to my post above.

Oh sorry. I didn't see the story. I got the news from Sea Rescue.
Those things are normally very stable so to turn it over would require a decent effort.
