Sorry been on an off grid camping surf trip this week...the pics are around Sanur. Yep that rights in front of the Hilton, doesn't need a boat. I've snorkelled around Nusa Lembongan, but havn't done the Manta's. Heard its pretty awesome.
Trips to the Bukit from Nusa Dua are no drama at all. From Canguu you are driving through the most congested part of Bali, do the Ubud stuff like Monkey Forest ect & Tanah Lot which is just up the road from Canguu.
Still need a bloke for transport?

Thanks for the info. Is this braek in front of the hilton consistant during april?
Yeah for transport we need someone. Mainly for our stay in nusa dua, but maybe also from canggu to ubud. Can I recontact you in march, just before we go there?
So the plan is: 1 week in canggu (beachbreak surf and hanging around/touri stuff) and two weeks jn nusa dua and doing the things on the bukit and bit of the keramas direction plus snorkeling around nusa dua and the manta tours around lembogan.
Any more tipps for surf spots in the nusa dua region?
Heading towards the other end of ND Sri Lanka in front of club med might be another option suspect wind will be the issue rather than swell regardless you will get waves
We won't get a rental car, nor a Scooter (toodangerous with kid and wife).
Looking really Forward to this Adventure
For a couple of years running I rented a car and drove around Bali with my wife and daughter.
A mate had been doing it with his wife and a couple of other mates had driven to Sumbawa and back a few times (they were fluent in Indonesian), so I though how hard can it be.
Had the usual dire warnings about near death experiences, petrol station rip offs, hassled by the cops and what ever you do don't drive out the highway of death.
So ignoring all of that went and hired a little car that had a 920cc engine of sheer grunt (had to turn the aircond off to pass any thing including bicycles) and off we went.
1st things that became obvious was how easy it was to get lost in Bali, the narrow roads and how the Balinese had a much narrow margin for error (usually measured in thousandths of inch's).
Some how we returned the car each time without a mark on it even after the highway of death (which is real unfortunately seen to many bodies along the road side over the years).
Of course all the dire warning were true so yeah nah don't hire a car get a driver and he will deal with the issues cheapest insurance you can buy.
But then if you want adventure.............
Zhanks for all the help. Now it is time to book the hotels. One in Berawa (as I think it will be less crowded than the rest of Canggu spots?) And one in Nusa Dua. Have you any recommendations?
Priority is wife and girl, so clean and not too much party people, but also no need for super high class luxury.
And close to the beach and spots in walking distance would be cool.
What are your experiences?
Thanks
Don't fall for the hotel line..."just meters from the beach" check on a map
Can you explain this, I do not get it.
Any other recommendations for our holidays in Berawa and Nusa dua?

I think mocha is saying, not all the hotels tell the truth regarding location
Do you think the nusa dua area is still good to surf during april? What is the wind like? I don't want to challenge the breaks outside, just the ones in paddle reach from shore:malesti, the right in front of hilton, left/right of the waterwhole, sri lanka and maybe
How does the wjnd behave during the day on both sides of the bukit?
Any recommandations for a guide or driver from nusa dua, or just stop/order a taxi from hotel?
Thanks
