'Bout time we had another of these, the other one is too old to resurrect. All are stolen from about the net..... At least a couple are West Oz
nice shot dmitri - spent 4 lovely years living there in the early 90's....nothing beats that view as you come over the hill.....here are a few of mine from last time I was home.
There is another one just as long that gets more swell not far from that one...no crowds when I was last there......
Thats no good.....how much are they charging a ride? We used to just get a taxi out the top of the point and surf back....have a feed and do it again. Sometimes we walked out from town which took about 35 mins from memory.
Thats sounds terrible the way you have explained it.....there is a spot like that not far from here that doesn't break too often but when it does we get all the jet ski's picking up and dropping off their mates whilst the rest of us battle the current / tide. It annoys the hell out of me. $200 a day to stay at that resort - jeepers it must be flash! I recall that current all too clearly....if you didn't get one quickly you were washed down pretty smartly and forced to grab yourself a second rate wave just to ensure you were not wasting all that precious energy. It was not very often that we even tried to paddle against it. If you had a boat / jet ski then your wave count would be through the roof thats for sure.
I was there in 2005 and there was no crowds and no boats.
I remember getting one that went nearly to the pier, but by half way my legs were that sore I could just stand and trim. Must be the 2.8km run back up the point.
Thats why i went back for a second time
First time i went it blew my mind and all i wanted to do was go back
Longest waves of my life with no boats or crowds
On the best day surfed from early morning until late arvo
No lunch, only a few Inca colas on the walk slash run back to the top of the point
Good times
before and after
just got in from surfing and grabbed the camera to turn and get this wave
best ever seen there ,
never said where it was, just mark is from kalbarri
one thing - it aint kalbarri
seconds at cottesloe actually - haha
