This is the thread to list your favorite tunes to amp up for a surf.
Mine show my age and heyday of the 90's. So many memories of long drives down south or up north.
1.Today, Smashing Pumkins
2. Beds are Burning, Midnight Oil
3. Greatest View, silverchair.

If feeling laid back "Black Stick"- The Cruel Sea or "Black" - Pearl Jam

If feeling pretty amped anything off "Head Injuries" album by Midnight Oil or off "The Battle of Los Angeles" by Rage Against The Machine.

Hah good idea for a thread!

I basically just listen to songs from my favourite surf films. That's a cop out I know, but it puts the images and vibe in my head and gets me excited about what the day may bring, surf wise.

Castles in the Sky probably has my favourite songs as far as surfing is concerned.

I'm a big fan of classical music, this one gets me in the mood every time:

On aide serious note, Mat McHugh and TBG are usually on high rotation whenever I'm near the beach, plus some newer bands like Best Coast, Surfer Blood and The Drums all have a great Californian Surf Rock kind of sound.

Beat me to it, I was going to say wavves or the drums, both always get me amped.

Martin Cilias version of Bombora.

The one video'd as a beach concert with the Atlantics.

Sorry, don't have a link at the moment. Will try to find it later.

Morning of the Earth +1.

Shine on you Crazy Diamond, sitting in a fourby with the mates, silent, at an isolated point, in the rain, looking at glassy 6' lefts. Stoned. In 1977.

Tool, kyuss, sublime, nofx, wolfmother.

Or is it INXS, hoodoo gurus and celibate rifles

Or is it Radio Birdman, sunny boys and lime spiders.

Failing that it could be Metallica or pantera.

Who knows? Music is such a mood thing. I just use the genius button these days and let it choose from the 45gb of music for me.

Nothing amps me up for a solid winter session than Muse - Absolution

Been loving Alt J lately though, might slip it into my next little doco, nice beats and a really interesting voice.
