guess I've just been around long enough to see some of Australia's best board makers leave the industry and that's a bitch. I'm just trying to get behind good quality Australian made products don't really see the issue

In a number of threads 4 different posters who had all just joined up at the same time started telling us how great cab sav boards were. It sounded like an ad and smelt like a pimp. I don't havent ridden one, I didnt say anything bad about them or parkerfan.
so if that makes me a prick who rides a Chinese made board in the whitewater, well so be it.

The truth is you have no idea who they are, but as per usual you've made an assumption and gone on the attack. Its simple read back and look at your posts. It soon became obvious why your on these forums. You may think that negative attitude works for you in your everyday life, but maybe try being friendly and smile every now and then and the word won't seem so horrible

It may very well be a pimp, but its possibly the only thread going at the moment thanks to negative crap like yours.. Next time a newby goes to post something, they'll probably think twice

actually I didn't attack anyone someone else noticed it too did I just agreed with their sentiments. And as for why nobody posts in here maybe its you banging on about sharks constantly and running your crusade to save the Sharks on seabreeze. Ever think people get sick of that and stop posting, this is a watersports forum not bjshacks save the Sharks Soapbox.

Blah blah, time to hold hands and sing Kumbaya.

Lets talk about boards.

Still reckon the potato's are up their as the best grovellers. Do the Cab Sav or Yahoo boards come in EPS as I think the extra pop helps in the small stuff. Firewires are made in Thailand not China so does that make them ok

I went the opposite as i only liked the firewire when there was no wind and little chop.
Got my version glassed heavy and it has payed off ten fold in my mind. Absolutely love this board for what it was made for,and have had a few intresting yet fun times in days where I should have had something else. I run shapers s9's with tiny trailer from a longboard.....oh it is a Clearwater from Mr Steve del Rosso
Glassed by the best laminator in the WORLD, the lady of many colours

That is a very nice looking board.

Actually i see heaps of CW boards second hand that i would like. Long board and short, but they are always advertised in the Rockingham area

I agree with jbshack and parkerfan a little more friendliness for new members wouldn't hurt instead of abuse or sarcasm then maybe you would get the numbers of posters up.

as for the Cab Savs I went for standard PU composition but they also come in EPS and Karboload technology. Which I would be interested to see how that compares with the baked potato in terms of strength, durability etc. I haven't really been down the eps road myself so would be interested to hear how they ride.

Nice bright colours crispy. That cw board looks sick. I believe Thailand made and China made same deal. Stick with an Australian based shaper using australian materials. Can't go wrong and supporting local manufacturing, employment etc at times when things are tough in the surf industry

Captain, Ya know I reckon you're close to the mark about tough times..how many guys do you know (thats all of us) that have more than 1 board, most!! jees I've got 4 OZ made custom boards,& I've brought & sold a lot more, if everyone only still had one board I could understand the argument but.??.. now its I've got x number of boards, Y number of wetsuits & a box full of fins at $30-$50- a fin.. I'm confused.. So if you ride a chinese board your an unreal surfer. Is that the same if you ride a Thai board as well. Is this bloke an unreal Aussie surfer getting shacked off his head on his Thai pop out or a real surfer.

I've got a bunch of both local Australian made and chinese pop outs I surf in my shed along with my chinese thongs and Indo wetsuits made of Japanese rubber. Pretty sure I'm supporting the surf industry with the amount of 5hit I buy. Yeah fully agree to support local shapers/ surf shops and all their imported accessories but in the end what ever you can afford and gets your surf stoke on will do. But maybe I should reassess with the chance of becoming a real surfer.

hi remarc, interesting board, do you ride it backhand ? what do you think ?

i am bad at riding fishies backhand, apparently due to their wide tails.

Here's my groveller. Shaped by a machine owned by Kumof Sumyoung Man with custom artwork done by a gang of groms. Apart from the poor quality build I've had more fun on this thing than any other board in local beachie pus.

hey Mitch that looks wicked,I shaped one similar might be slightly wider in the tail, what fins did you put in as I did quad set up and it wants to stay flat on the water, doesn't want to get on rail, its like a frikken porsche no body roll -nice artwork by the groms well done

I use big FCS keel twins. Still real hard to get the beast on rail but I think that's due to the massive wide tail. The beauty of mine is it gets you in early and flys down the line so you're making sections that wouldn't be surf able on a standard shorty in weak waves and it's great for foam climbs and floaters

Nice looking board but all I am thinking is that if they are all your groms you have been one busy boy ! Nice work.We are struggling to get one! I guess you will not be popular going forward when you roll up with 8 frothing groms !
