Probably like a 7'2" x 22" x 2 3/4" would suit you I reckon.

It's been all over ABC radio this morning
Apparently another discussion with the CEO of Wanneroo council tomorrow morning on the radio
Should be interesting

Anyone tuning into this? Would love to get a bit of a rundown on it as I'm overseas and can't tune in. Or even find a podcast and/or transcript of the interview online...? Wanneroo council is getting quite good at messing up around here.

Derrs is an aberration of Dewars which is actually the name of the onshore reef system that starts about half a k north of Durrs, Derrs etc. Named after one of the areas pioneering fishing families if I recall correctly.

Ssssshhhhhhh secret spot.

I remember something about it being names after Dewars scotch, a favorite of a local fisherman. However a bit of googling found a Dewar family arriving in the 1830's, so Smicko may be onto it.

I was playing around last night on a new phone app called IKoast. Its a new Shark alarm type of thing but anyway i noticed on the map it showed roads around my local area that are yet to be built. I traced it up to the area in question and sure enough the same thing. I then checked the map on my I phone and it also shows a full road network and estate right on top of Deers..SO i guess the land development must be a lot more along then many of us thought..

I dont think any action will make any difference to what they do now. Just have to go to some other fall back spots now and hope they dont get found.
Only prob is they are a bit remote but thats a good thing in alot of cases

... users can instantly and directly pin shark sightings on a visual map for everyone to see. The app then pushes the real-time notification to other users who have signed up to receive that alert. It remains live for 30 minutes before it?s added to historical data, which users can access at any time to assess any beach.

I'll update with daily notifications of a 5m white hanging around my new personal break, Pt Popular!

What a dumbass idea.

So does anyone know if the land is actually owned privately or is it council/state property? Wouldn't that make some difference and if they are planing on developing it

Private. It's always been private, as long as I can remember. It's lucky they've allowed people on it for this long. Probably mainly because it was hard to police and the owners were (are?) in Japan.

Yeah it does. That link also talks about two more marinas, as i said originally i think this will be decades away. BUT why have the Local Council being up keeping a road on private property? Also if its private property what right do rangers have to kick us out

Because the owners wanted to close it years ago and the council entered into an agreement with them to take some responsibility and keep it open. Complex issue, but probably because the owners were in Japan and weren't exactly going to police it and if they blocked entrances people would make new ones anyway so the council had some implied responsibility anyway, as people were accessing the private land from public land.

As much as it sucks for those who do the right thing, driving in a safe way, taking home rubbish and sticking to existing tracks. The idiots have ruined it for everyone. With all of the 4wd enthusiasts complaining about their rights, it's frustrating that today I witnessed some idiot drive along the fence line until he bush bashed his way onto the track. if there is a hope of the track being reopened, selfish people like that guy I saw today, don't help the cause.
