doesn't get more Oz than this ....?
72 HQ 202 trimatic (bought it for $900 with 12months rego) and drove it for nearly 4 years at which point it was so full of fibreglass matting and bog it would of floated Some guy offered me a $1000 for it so he could do it up and use it in the authentic HQ race series..
Lets see a few classic OZ surf vehicles people have had over the years .Not the tricked up sandmans/kombis but the fords, corollas, holdens you bought off your mate for 2 cartons of beer and a bottle of JD ....
classic shot of my mate (triple p, on the left) who died in a hang gliding accident sep 2000, who still owes me a carton of beer....
(RIP Pete)
PS one carton i am in no hurry to collect .....
If where I think it is, then about two hours north of S .....
One of my favourites (with a bit of swell), but haven't been there for years.
Is it really crowded now ?
(Surprising they still let you park on the dunes at D ....)
Wish I kept her. 1973 LWB Series III Land Rover
Current expo rig
1991 Hilux Surf Turbo Diesel with a blown engine...so looking at building a new rig.
suba, just for future reference, naming spots isn't so much a good idea. Talking spots up the same thing, play it down, play it cool. You can name general regions, NW, midwest, north Perth, metro, Mandurah, SW, south coast. But naming specific locations isn't on, unless it sucked. It always sucks where I go . It's always 1' with 30+ out
.
haha fixed mate. Removed the name. Haha. I just assumed every surfer in WA knew that spot haha. I go there twice a year hehe.
Ah, that makes sense. How's the little 4-cyl sedan with the tinnie on the roof . I wonder where they fit the outboard?
curtains, chrome, corduroy .....and a semi mullet... i wouldn't mind betting there was a little bit of chisel on high rotation in that cassette player... gold
I drove into the car park at my local and come across this awesome old VW,the guy who owns it just finished restoring it,lowered, skateboards on the roof racks, paint work was done so it looked like an old rust bucket, the inside was full of surf culture.
Classic mac!! He has done it up in the "gasser" style that's why the body work was neglected but was lowered and had that drag style tank up the front.
Love the old skaties on the roof
Did some one mention VW's heres my 1960 still used for surf checks & the Kombi comes out occasionally to.
