it is really odd because they are popping up for sale locally (Montreal, Canada)
but NOT cheap - make's sense cuz they are in good shape ...

myself, i was fortunate to find a Mistral Equipe II - not a DIV II, but i love it
I'm guessing the Cdn dollar is pretty similar to Oz dollar these days. I'd pay $400 for one of those, I reckon it's a pretty good price.
Anyone shipping a container from Montreal to Sydney in the next few weeks?
Well if Joe Windsurf can find two more - happy to share container cost. Also a Mistral Equipe / Panam.
well, this just popped on same local sale page
is it really a PanAm ??

It's the first PanAm from 1985 just before the Equipe .
But is most NO Div II but one of the first Raceboards .

Shipping 8-10 boards from Montreal to Sydney cost about CAD 2000-2500
1 AUD = 0.95 CAD
Each board ranging between CAD 500-800 with or without sails...let's do the math
Really feasible.
I've been shaking the tree on various electronic media and in person, looking for Div II boards around Sydney. I've have found a few but none for sale.
Looks like they're a lot rarer than I expected. I may have to bite the bullet and go for a race board if I'm to get out on the water.
Keep trying Jethrow,
the most difficult not finding the boards but bringing guys back on water or convincing them to sale their beloved D2s.

Joe, that board is the production version of Robby's Pan Am..
$400 for a lechner in good condition seems like a bargain.
I know someone who has a few lechners in NSW, just not sure if he'd be willing to sell.
PM me if interested.
Also, as a bit of an aside from Mistral international facebook page:

The one or two red Naish custom Pan Am protos were probably the most beautiful windsurfers ever.
Although I may be just the tiniest bit biased! :-) The problem is that at 4m long, they won't fit into the Raceboard class regs even when the production-board requirement is relaxed as it has been in Oz. Otherwise I may have taken mine to the worlds just for the lols.
One straight cut right across the board, 20cm from the tail, and she'll have a new lease of raceboard life. No excuses.

You're not gonna cut that board...No offence but respect for old mythic goodies ;)

How many D2 sailors listed so far ?
- Chris
- Goeff
- Aus65
- myself...
Well we have enough to make a podium already
Who else...? Come on, don't be shy

I could be a starter if i can swing it with work. Morton bay in windy season could be pretty wild on a D2 down wind though . I have a DB2 that i manage to get wet a few times a year when i have no crew for my dinghy. Great fun racing with the dinghy fleet.
I only have the old white soft sails though. Still use them on a double tapered alloy mast. serfic ?brand i think.
CHRIS -Do the MOD/raceboard type sails make much difference to speed or ease of handling ?
funny how you regret all the longboards that you have gotten rid of over the years but never think of all the short boards that you dump.i still regret sending my Elimonator D2 (made in newcastle) to the tip . Man i loved that thing with my devires sail.
anyway hope i can join in on the fun in november. will keep an eye out for a sail
Yes the Serfiac mast was great with the original D2 sails but I wouldn't try a new cambered sail on one!
Nev,
Yes old 7.3-7.5 MOD /RB usually work well.
An old NP 2 parts 4.90 mats or so is good also...not the old V1 serfiac neither Serfiac Pro
Hi Guys,
Any progress on D2 recruitment for Brisbane?
As breaking news today: Slovenian were racing somewhere in Slovenia this weekend...
Believe it or not, they aligned 19 D2 all with type A sails on starting line....
A simple regatta with 3 nations participating...Respect !
Yes you can do the same

Hi Jethrow, I was going past the revival centre this morning and there were a few boards there.
One was a Ten Cate Division Two Board. It is made of hollow fibreglass in very good condition and has original Ten Cate centreboard in need of some TLC.
It was $60 so I bought it home. Any one interested in it please contact me. Board is in Bowral.
FootNote for Clarence - Pleased to see the photo's of Clarence on my old Mistral D2. It was built in 1983 so is now about 33 years old.

The TC WIN?
It was the base for the next Lechner L1 or L2.
Before the TC WIN was the Windurfer WIN, the unique D2 made by Windsurfer, developed and manufactured by Vanguard Harken.
Does anyone know anything about this board. The add says it is a seahorse sailboard. Dimensions 13.6x25x5.
I've never heard of them, not sure if it is in the Div 2 category.
Hello Guys,
Does anyone have any idea where to find the famous parallelogram used to measure D2s and aluminium C gates?
If you have any pics, please share...We need to redo some set for the Class.
Thanks
Cheers
