We need a new section called "very heavy weather" and this thread needs moving to it!

Not necessary .

this thread may have great educational value

In easy format we clearing old , embedded misconceptions, try to understand better.
One by one.

If I comment on diagram or formula - is not to disprove, but try us to understand how it works, not simply memorize and pray to it.

If I made a mistake , I am happy to be corrected by everybody else, ( and that is constantly happening- what makes me even more happy because people actually digesting information out here)

That why I also beg to avoid personal conflicts , because that will land us in heavy weather ( completely un needed ) .

Lets feel free here to attack concepts, diagrams, formulas and even thought but not authors, please.

If somebody learn something - that's a bonus, others may have good time, others know already everything and time here is wasted

MacroScien, you are right about the frozen bucket of salt water. Interesting enough, I fooled a physics teacher with that question Your answer showed that you are good at simple deduction. I am not "psycho-analysing" you though

Rain droplets? Are you deflecting/delaying your answer ?

If I were Sherlock Holmes, master of deduction

I would say

Thats depend...

Then smoke the pipe

..on size maybe...

Then play violin for an hour

...some could be big some small...

then went to Watson for a coffee

....some could be round some could be concave...

eat a cake, scratch the mustache

but I never saw the conical kids used to draw, the proper droplet like

I believe you are placing too much emphasis on air pressure. ...

Contrary to anyone may think , I like very much to be corrected in my assumptions.

My first and sincere assumtion when I take on windsurfing was that I will never been able to learn waterstart

so I kept uphouling for a long long time ( becomes almost world champion in uphouling )

Life corrected that assumption so the next one comes immediately after that :

that gibing is absolutely above my abilities, forever !

Since then I managed to pull few turnes without falling into water.

The most recent assumption and absolutely true, still waiting for clarification :

I bought a kite for lighter wind sailing , but still after year waiting in my garrage or so ,

I still strongly believe that is too difficult form me ever learn the trick how to operate it.
