Last I went to Botany Bay, on a Sunday, I circled around for 40 minutes and I could not get a park. I gave up. I'm pretty hesitant to go back on a fine, Sunday afternoon again.

Hey Harrow I was one of the 6 drifting around at Kyeemagh on Saturday. Great breeze eh? Was trying out the GW60. Need to update the old 2003 91L FSW tho!

How does a city of 5 million people only manage to get 6 sailors onto Botany Bay in a solid 25 knot sea breeze that blew until 10pm?!

I know a few guys left earlier because the wind hadn't come in (sorry guys, bad decision ), but I still can't believe how few people were out there.

We had 12 wavesailing at Longy, and that was just when I was there, later in the day. Was great to see!

I was there last on Friday arvo and there were definitely more than 6 out during the course of the afternoon.
More like 16 but not all on the water at the same time.
As it often happens, when the wind kicks in ,which it did, people jump out and rig down or go home.
Many don't have small gear or don't like strong, gusty wind so give up when it starts gusting above 25,not very common for a seabreeze.
But yes it is thinning out, traffic down to Kyeemagh has gotten chronic which is a huge disincentive if you are heading down after 2-30/3 pm from the city, north or eastern burbs on a working day.
Older guys are sailing less and not many youngsters coming in.
Still I think Kyeemagh is one of the best spots to sail in NSW offering relatively flat water along the runway break wall for speed runs and bump and jump conditions in the bay.
Always a good mixture of race, freeride and wave gear in the bay.
Car park, grass rigging area, fresh water taps, a cafe, what more could one want.

I'd like to go windsurfing again. Hopefully next year it will happen.

Not many out today on the river. Perhaps half a dozen max at Melville in total and similar at Pelican Point. One hydrofoiler out,Ken on a 5m Overdrive.

Warm and 15-20 knots.

Noticed a a big to huge drop off in numbers this year, but only on week days.

Way overpowered on my 8m and 135 litre. Fun going upwind, downwind was a bit scary and hard work. Sailed from 4pm till just past 7-30pm with a 15 minute break.

Only really enjoyed the last hour when it dropped off a bit.
