A few years ago I saw a hammerhead shark attached to a sea turtle's rear while at Jimmy's Beach NSW. Assume it was trying to eat the sea turtle not introduce itself.

Had a very large sea turtle (5' across) surface just in front of me at Batemans Bay (South Coast NSW) which really scared the #### out of me. He took a breath and disappeared. Where I sail now, we have a smaller sea turtle that appears every so often, but he is a small one. They apparently eat the large jelly fish which have the tenticles hanging down; good by me.

Twenty years ago while at Glenelg Beach (SA) we were warned about the white pointer sharks, so while sailing a fair way off-shore I nearly had a coronory when a large white shape about 8'-9' long, appeared below me. I was ready to get the hell out of there, when it surfaced just in front of me. It was a very playful dolphin, just wanting to say hello. Phew!

At The Haven, Terrigal Beach I was sailing out as two small hammerheads were coming in. Were going to the boat ramp I'd say to get some off-cuts.

Once while sailing at Kyemah (is that how it's spelt?) in Sydney a fellow sailboarder hit a submerged car tyre. Ripped out his fin and broke his boom when he crashed. He got back in OK but it did take a time.

Two stand out for me:

1) A brown snake swimming strong 2 km off shore!

2) Getting buzzed by three fighter jets at low altitude - the first flattened me and the trailing two must have seen it as they waved their wings as they went over - probably laughing hard!

Wow, they must have been low for the jet wash to do that!!

Went sailing at south west rocks, was off the plane heading back to shore i looked down only to see a shark underneath me, my first instinct was to bare off but then i thought it was pretty cool.
ANother time i was sailing la perouse bay, there is a old pier under which was a naked girl and a photographer doing some shots.

This place is shark city. I've stopped surfing here 3 times because of the bloody things Very few naked girls though

Byron Bay runs a close second for Noahs. Near be eaten there a few times also. But a much higher percentage of naked girls

Back to things we've seen- Up at Byron I had a pilot whale lunge out of a wave I was on. I near die of a freakin' heart attack. The 20 foot lump of black death destroyed the wave and my confidence. Didn't go in the water for weeks after that.

had one just miss my leg and bounce of the sail last week. Closest Ive come to one.

Think I saw a sun fish fin off Trigg a few years ago - couldnt be sure but it was that round symetrcal shape that only they seem to be.

Turtles common in Carnarvon but mainly brown football shaped heads.

Dolphin fin 3 weeks ago about 500m offshore, with recent Perth news scared the hell out of me until I convinced myself it was a dolphin. Two other guys saw a decent sized not dolphin fin in the same area a few weeks before that.

A few weeks ago watched a bird (hovering sort) catch a decent sized fish at Mettams and then struggle downwind with it. Looked like it was having trouble getting airborne the fish was so large.

In the southern ocean sailing back to Perth from Melbourne I saw 2 water spouts about 20km off our bow. That was pretty cool, but as we went along a pod of +300 dolphins was exiting the immediate area. the Pod stretched over about 500m roughly given there wasn't much to judge distance by out there.

Over in Maui you see lots of turtles pop their heads up which scares the crap out of of you. If you hit one, which usually rips the fin out of the back of the board, you keep it to yourself and don't tell the locals...... Very very bad karma apparently...

Yeah Maui, Sprecks, well it was kinda like a turtle head, but smaller, was slogging out past the reef and a meter upwind this little aqua nugget was heading straight for us. I tried desperately to avoid hitting it, but it caught this bit of chop and skidded straight across the deck of the Quatro between my feet and the mast foot. Bad karma did not ensue but it was a ****ty session.

strippers on a houseboat

Funny you say that...my brother & I were fishing in the Murray River 2 years ago from a tinny and I spotted a topless 'lady' walking around the deck on a houseboat only about 50 metres from us (fairly common sight). Later, when we were about to head back to camp, she called another couple of guys in their tinny over & kept inviting them on board. From a closer perspective she was a bit 'very-ordinary' and looked like she'd had a big sesh (as in months) on harsh drugs.

My brother & I decided to stay a bit longer to watch the show unfold. The other 2 guys were related (uncle/nephew), single guys and were camping not far from us, one about 30 & the other about 60. The 30 y/o kept saying "no thanks", but we could clearly hear the 60 y/o saying "c'mon, it'll be alright" (he was keen)...and she was persistent & kept doing some wierd 'sexual' motions & flashing them her 'nether regions'.

After about 5 mins of negotiations, we saw this old dodgy (drawn-out) looking guy wander out from inside the houseboat, bong in hand, beer gut and just wearing a thong. The 2 guys started their motor straight away & took off whilst the banshee stared screaming after them "F*N P**FTERS" "A**HOLES" etc.

I nearly fell out of the boat laughing, and back at camp...the 2 guys copped it for the next few days although the older guy still reckons it was an "opportunity missed".

I found Wilson!

Windsufing at Sanctuary Point (NSW) and came accross Wilson going his merry way.

Stopped, picked him up, though "how an I going to get this back to land", and decided to leave him to his own adventure.

Caught it on my Go Pro!

I'll upload the vid as proof but here's a pic from the video

It wasn't floating, but today at the lake in Canberra, where we launch in an easterly, there was a pair of Lace top stockings and a pair of black panties in the grass.

Disturbingly ... When I got back in to pack up the panties had gone !

had a few :

dugong came up right in front of me, I nearly **** in my boardshorts thinking it was a shark

was going full speed when I hit a turtle that had just surfaced, at first felt bad for the animal thinking I might have injured it, then cursed it when I saw my fin was gone and had to swim 1km to shore

wind had dropped so I was slowly sailing back towards the beach, spotted a large turtle, then a fin and then a shark ripping a fin off it.... kept my feet real close to the mast and started blowing in the sail...

through the years saw a few funny boards with footstraps, fins on each end and a handle in the middle, drifting along, couldn't be bothered, they looked too small.....

Haven't seen much not already mentioned. Sailing at Hervey Bay I saw a straw hat floating around so sailed over to it and just as I went to grab it saw a tiny baby stingray under it. Had a turtle surface near me in Mackay, had a small fish jump out of the water and hit my leg there too, and a few bounce off the deck. Rigging up maybe 20 years ago in Adelaide saw a water spout out to sea. Plenty of dolphins but thankfully never a shart. Last weekend at Mandurah a Shag surfaced about 2m in front of me, glad he chose the opposite direction to me. He must have fairly shat himself, I looked back after passing and he was doing circles on the surface, still trying to decide which way to fly
