A smart person would add 3" to the equation.
A dumb person would snipe at other's.
Which are you?

Ahh, which way would the 7.62 cm go?

since this particular question is solved, I can't image why anyone would hate you (your words ) it appears that the leave well enough alone concept doesn't fall into the smart person persona.

or do you talk the talk and not walk the walk.

Gotta admit, I seldom paddle my Fly in the summer.
As for the other...
Have shaped over 300 surboards.
Have windsurfed at expert level for 35 years.

Always from the tail. It's the standard.

Sail National rider for Gaastra, Rushwind, and Waddell for 6 years.

Being humble is the sign of a true champion.

Being humble only means you're being humble.
When a shaper asks, I answer, humble or not.
The truth, or past history, has little to do with humble or braggard.
I was asked. I answered.

So presumably you're still an "expert"?
What does that entail - bump & jump on San Francisco Bay?

Bump n jump SF Bay qualifies. Certainly among the fastest, right there with highest jumps, and planing jibes.
Waves no problem, Waddell, Davenport, Palo, PSC, Backyards, DH.
I don't sail over an hour anymore, but the skills are still there.
I also can't seem to learn foiling.

Fair enough, we'll put it down to semantics.
Probably just illustrates cultural differences between us and Americans

Your first sentence , semantics, a study of the cognitive structure of meaning, does translate loosely to culture , or way of life.

a way of life will differ from a farmer in Iowa to a accountant in Boston. I never felt that a geographic difference prevents common courtesy among those with a similar interest , if that means staying alive ( brothers in arms) or windsurfing the same break.

There is no definitive answer , use the collective resources at your disposal to make as near an informed choice as possible.
With a clear thought that some will be wrong , clearly off in measures.

Have you visited OZ? A slight difference in meaning of the same words can lead to big misunderstandings.
Something that's courteous in one country could be an insult in another.
A lot of Yanks don't get aussie humour, and can take offence where none was meant. And vice versa

I have not visited. I agree 100% with you.
i don't want to be clumped into such a generalization that I'm a Yank, that my thinking and sense of humor is the same as another Yank.

Ohh, this is the thread which just keeps giving...
Weve got old people n
Weve got young people,
Weve got bright people n
Weve got dumb people.
The people who speak,
Speak tongue in cheek.
Yet they still cant deliver what the OP seeks.
He seeks high n
He seeks low.
Who will step up next
To add to the To n Fro?
No matter where you stand,
With your head in your hands.
Who can deliver where the mastrack should land?

You guys crack me up!
NEXT!!!

Light riders and surf riders use farther back.
Heavier forwards more, but still need the balance of turning and ease of uphaul.
There is NO one perfect setting for everyone

Obviously a 6 foot mast track will fill the bill.
Be careful not to place it more than 3m from the nose unless you propose to use your boom for a mast.

LeeD ive just read your latest post. So what happened to it being related to tail rocker?
Notwal explains it perfectly.
Cant wait to get it to the water for a testrun....

Not JUST tail rocker, but tail width and tail thickness, or volume, and balance of the board.
But since most people just roll their eyes when facing too much information, I cut it short for the masses.
