It's just too gusty for da boys. And they cant kite in off shore wind. And they cant kite in small areas full of people, cause there lines are to long. And they cant launch there kites from a beach full of rocks at least windsurfers still can..Thats why windsurfing is better The reason more girls do it is because girls like fancy colours and so do gays

Is flipper KOTP's love child appentice.

If so,,,spelling shouldn't matter.

WOW,,,there are more topics about kiteing here than in the kite forum.

Maybe there should be a thread asking "Is the windsurfing threads about windsurfing still declining?"

Yer it's strange that Laurie never added a Newbies section to the windsurfing forums when he added 1 to the kitesurfing forums.I guess he knowns best.
But serisily I did start to windsurf at 1 point but I had to give it up. I just couldn't get used to a man entering me from behind.

Hi flip, I'm a little hesitant to hit at your bait cause I get the feeling ol barn, or shed or what ever that grumpy RSL stalwarts name is had to slip a nitrous pill under his tongue and wash it down with a cheap middy of shandy last night. I don't want you to put yourself in an ambulance also, but, maybe you do have a functioning sense of humour?

I'm compelled to correct you on a few things.

I weigh 105kg, my kite quiver is 14m, 12m and 10m, I was amazed when miss Jess (hi jess, where ever you are now) offered me her 5m kite on a super windy, gusty day, and I was lit up on it. A check of seabreeze graphs later revealed there were 50kn gusts in the time I was out.
Kiters can't kite gusts and over 25kn - BUSTED!

Who, except inconsiderate people, are selfish enough to dangerously whiz in and out of the public trying to enjoy a peaceful day at the seaside, especially considering the amount of coastline we enjoy here in Australia. Does this attitude indicate windsurfers lack not only humour, but consideration also? - PLAUSIBLE.

Kiters can kite any strong enough wind. Yep, unless a kiter is very confident, foolhardy, inexperienced or has a chase craft, offshores aren't a great idea. - PLAUSIBLE.

Mostly there is some where to launch remote from the beach, and walk down with the kite in the air. - BUSTED!

As for the girls, who knows, maybe they don't want to do the old thing their fathers did, maybe the new thing appeals, maybe young fit kiters with their own hair are more attractive than, well, the alternative, I don't know. When you work out why women and girls do what they do, may I suggest you keep it to yourself until you have written a book about it, then retire on your billions.

It's ok mate, don't get up from the table and get the manager to escort me out, I've had a cheap schooner, a complimentary cheese bickie, dropped five in the pokies and I'm on my way.

Geez guys...I wish there were more guys on the water here (kiters or w/surfers). Most times I go w/surfing I have to let the 'minister fo war & finance' know where I'm going for safety reasons because I know I'm going to be on the water by myself.

In 5 years, I've w/surfed once with kiters (Torquay, Vic. early this year) and expecting the worst from reading these sort of threads, the guys with the long lines were great...even with everyone (about 30 w/surfers, 20 kites) [edit - might've been a few less now I think of it, but still packed] negotiating one break. The first time I had to cross under a kite, I was watching his lines thinking 'sh!t, what am I supposed to do here?!' (I'm prob a bit of a kook, not knowing the correct etiquette), wasn't a prob, the lines went up & I passed under, quick thumbs up from me, which was returned & we went on our way.

As for trying tea-bagging, I thought about trying it, and maybe I am too old, but I'm having too much fun pole-dancing to want to try anything else!

Trolls will troll, and it makes for entertaining reading (when the hook is set) - just don't take yourselves too seriously.

I'd say more girls kite than windsurf because its easier to learn , not as hard on the body & more portable. If I was younger & had $ I'd give it a go & prob go out in the surf as i think I'd get bored in flatwater.

It's nice to get a few pleasant, lucid replies over here.

I'd never visited this forum until KOTP's 'kiters carnt' post and was beginning to think that all windsurfers were angry ol farts. You have proven that's not the case. Perhaps KOTP and barn, or shed, or hut or whatever his name is are exceptions.

For the record, as an east coast surfer, frustrated by afternoon seabreezes, I attempted to learn to wavesail in the early 90's. It was obviously a huge amount of fun. But, after numerous outings, lugging a heavy, original windsurfer and all the gear to the lake and back, rigging and de rigging, I progressed as far as a wobbly tack before I gave up. I understand how skillful wavesailing is.

Then kitesurfing came along and changed my life.

If your on the water, it's all good.

Cheers

Resorting to correcting people spelling is even worse than using lame internet catch phrases like "u mad bro?". What are you 12 years old?

Only used in youtube comments and by facebook kids.. Take it back to the kite forum..

Hmm, where to begin.
Chronolgically you may be younger than me, mentally your thought patterns seem old and rigid, emotionally you display vast immaturity.

Been kiting 3 years, surfing 37, what ever that classifies me as. If I'm a 'noob', I'm unabashed about it.

I do think kiting is awesome. I suspect you think windsurfing is awesome, by your assessment does that make your 'bile' old hat?

Funny is a subjective quality, if you don't find it funny, then it's not funny.

I have no expectations about my 'creative writing', but thanks for the compliment.

Yep trolled a little, just a bit of fun, see above re fun.

At lots of places I kite, one in particular, there are more often than not, many people of all ages and sexes watching, commenting favourably and photographing kiters.
When I'm setting up, in between sessions, or unable to kite due to other commitments, I'm an impressed spectator too. Not many windsurfers up this way, but if one was out there having a good time and being spectacular, I'd enjoy watching him too.
Almost every time we kite this spot, people are all over us as we walk back to the cars, curious about the gear, learning, cost, techniques etc.

If you can possibly be honest with yourself, you'll acknowledge that you watch the kites also. Whether you like it or not, it's relatively new, novel and a spectacle.

As for calling me 'Dickward', and I believe 'Twat' in an earlier post, once again, you display your immaturity in being unable to separate the situation and discussion from the person. You gotta learn to play the ball and not the man.

I can guarantee you, you would not call me either to my face. Add cowardly bully to your personal traits.

So a couple of questions for you,

Nice essay you Burtward.

1. You're a noob cause it was your 1st post..

2. I watch kites, as I said I sail with kites. I have no animosity towards your sport.

3. You are preaching in the wrong church
Then kitesurfing came along and changed my life.

But thanks for the laughs.

4. A little tip, if you are trying to troll people, don't fill your post with 'troll face'.. Do you play poker with your cards backwards?.

5. Loved the story about awestruck spectators.

And to answer your questions. I am aware of what is current in internet exchanges, if a meme appears on the SMH.com.au it's instantly no longer funny. Also anything used by 12yo kids is lame.. Not hard really.

And I'm not angry, just not taking any smack from BurtWard, who's life was changed 3 years ago by kiting..

I made the troll face thing as a joke, how could anyone troll with such an obvious profile.

Believe it or not, a guy in the sup forum gave me a straight answer, I felt kinda sorry for him, he was a real nice guy.

Those posts are gone too, I think Todd Trollington is dead.

Fair call on the first post newbie thing.

Great call on the SMH internet meme.

Perhaps, with the SMH reference you are from Sydney, that would explain your heightened aggression, I understand, it's a jungle down there.

Sorry about the immature thing, that was immature on my behalf.
