Its the same as in the lineup when surfing, the pecking order is sorted pretty quick.
The better wave riders get more waves , same as kiters get more waves.

You just don't get it do you?

Better riders get more waves - yes.

But kiters turn onto waves with somebody already on them and that is different.
That is as low as you can get when in the waves.

If you are heading out and each wave has somebody on them already, you keep going out until you find a lonely swell with nobody on it.

If 5 guys are heading out one after the other, number one takes first swell that is good. Number 2 takes next swell, and so on.

Basic sh!t that kiters just don't seem to get.

Why dont you talk to the offenders, get to know them like at our local where we all work in together, instead of staying in you own little group and crying about it.

The guys who invented the technology were kite nerds and nasa rocket scientists. None of that is relevant o behaviour in the surf.

The guys who got kiting to where it is today are people like Robbie Naish and Laird Hamilton and Manu Bertin and the rest of the Maui windsurf crew. They worked out how to go upwind and took kites into the surf.

No you are right. What is relevant is the behaviour in the surf ...... which is damned disgusting by many kiters, many many more than windsurfers and surfers. Not helped by posts on seabreeze by many of your crew like "that why we boost over youse lol" (few days ago) and "we just take all the waves off you cos we can" (couple of weeks ago).

Rather than being defensive about the whole thing I'd like to see some of the responsible kiters give those young D.H's a serve here for all to see.
Hell freezes over
Pig flies past etc etc

You dont get it do you.
Every post you make on seabreeze is anti kite.Cant find many on this forum that arnt.It seems to be your personel vendeter.I know some of the widsurfers on here are getting pretty bored of it.
When 9 out of 10 of your posts say kiters are Dic#heads, kiters have no idea, kiters are dumb, kiters dont give a **. Dont you realise you are just fueling the fire and is why kiter trolls () attack???
If all the posts in the kite forum where about windsurfers being gay etc,you guys would be over stirring back.
You dont seem to realise that kiters read this windsurfer atitude on here against kiters, then wonder why they dont show respect on the water, and stir you up by trolling.
Quite simple,if a group of people were calling you guys,idiots,dic@heads,gay etc would you try and work in with them,or tell them to get bent??
Not starting an argument here,or attacking you, just my observation.
Glad I live in an area where we all get along and laugh at how rediculous it is between you guys over there.

bottom line indeed 'behaviour in the surf' just saw a comp between surfers at Margaret river on Starsports cable and these 2 guys were claiming fiercly for a wave they were actually shoving each other off-incredible! i guess the other thing that fuels this strange but often debate is the amount of space a kiter covers and the reaction time in case of a mishap and most often than not close to a windsurfer..being a kiter too i do try really stay downwind and a lot upwind if am not windsurfing with fellow mates since i know if i make one mistake it's 25mtrs of line plus another for pull on the power window and any person around that is in a lot of trouble sailor or not..plus the skill level thing when a kiter gets better the complacency same as a sailor gets bolder jumping or gybing nearer to obstacles and people..just my opinion no-one else's

OK for the 1st time in yooonks I popped over to the pole side to check things out. Didn't take me long to find an anti-kiter thread. I'm not surprised TBH.

I have to say that not all teabaggers are w@nkers.. granted there are quite a few, but then there are some todgers hanging off poles too. I don't assume that weener is the average poley - or human being for that matter.

Generally I like to avachat to poleys as they are mostly laid back and unassuming. They are often surprised that a kiter bothers to shoot the breeze with em and ask how their sesh went. That is a shame. Really we should have more in common than not. Yep - the differant tacks/lines do get a bit tricky but the mocean is pretty big.

Don't make the mistake of thinking all teabaggers are coonts - observe the individual's behaviour 1st. If they acting the selfish goose then by all means give a triple racing stripe after running em over . If not say g'day and avachat (talk slowly tho ).

Sure you aren't a kiter Rider 5? Proof you don't have to kite to be a todger I guess. Oh you look hot in fuscia on your RSVP by the way.

Funkster

agree completely. But
How I miss sailing at remote wave locations where the 10 polies and 5 kiters get along well and share waves and respect ROW rules - largely due to the fact the kiters are ex-polies and we all know each other having sailed/kited there together daily.

Perth however - what a mess.
Some local polies not giving way, lots of euro polies not giving way, and many more kiters not giving way. Kiters repeatedly making their inside turn 2m off the beach and their kite flies directly over other beach users. I could go on forever.

Where I come from in my criticism is the fact that I get 10x more grief from kiters and when I try to talk to them about it I get abused.
When I mention it here I get some young knobjockey kiter make comments endorsing dropping in or not giving way or "boosting over polies" cos we are slow and outdated apparently.
The deliberate trolling in this forum by kiters is rife and there is not much of it in the kite forum from us.

No wonder threads like this are created out of sheer frustration.

your still not seeing it.
The coments like in the original post that started all this, "If you see 10 windsurfers turn up,,,use your brains and Fu#k Off"
Of course there will be negitive posts from kiters.Stirring you up saying we will just drop in on you or what ever.

If that was said in the kiters forum telling the polers to **** off when we turn up,then there would be stirrers posting back.

Comments like the one above and the endless others, di@kheads,Sh@t for brains, gay, bla bla bla are probly the reason you apparently get abused when you try and tell them what to do. Maybe try and get to know the locals, talk and have a chat at other times other than just when you have a complaint?

Is it all young kiters you have a problem with?
You always say "young knobjockeys" etc.
Its maybe a generation gap thing??? Not that they are kiters, but that an older person is telling them what to do even if you maybe right???
Im probly wrong,happends sometimes.Just a thought.

Lotofwind I am not referring to this thread exclusively. For example months ago I posted a thread regarding a spot in Perth where there has been segregation for years with kiters at one end of the beach and polies at the other. Suddenly the kiters started to mix in causing onwater incidents which were not pretty. I politely posted a thread here and was told we were useless, need to join the new millenium and they'd take all our waves and cut us off just cos they can.
I have posted other threads politely reminding kiters of the ROW rules and "1st on the wave owns it", and largely been abused or ridiculed by kiters (we'll take your waves cos we can etc"

You may disagree but in 17yrs of windsurfing I have been dropped in on rarely by windsurfers but in the last 5yrs repeatedly every single session by kiters. Maybe KOTP is the same and that is why his original post in this thread was worded so strongly.
Eventually you get sick of polite reminders re: ROW rules and then you up the ante and use strong language.

You'll also notice I am not here using the abusive language you refer to. My only reference usuing such is where I aksed why don't the responsible kiters give the D.H's a serve - now why don't they Mr Lotofwind?
