Next Wanderers meet is looking towards this coming weekend.
although the forecasts are some way off and very volatile at the moment there is some possibility of a low forming around sunday.
more info to follow and fingers crossed.
Are you going to reprise that for this week Gesty? Forcast for Friday to Sunday is currently luverly. Lets do the waves again.
hi haircut,
definately we will be going back to pelican park but this time round i reckon sutton's as it's been a long time since going there.
if the wind swings south though pelican park will be the go.
WindWanderers Redcliffe Meet.
This Saturday 31st of May looks the goods for making the trek back to Redciffe for a great day of slalom/bump and jump.
the sponsor for the redcliffe meet is Windsurfingsales, a long time supporter of the club. The guys at Windsurfingsales have once again graciously come to the party with lots of food and giveaways for everyone.
planned for the day are :-
1. bbq (of course)
2. gun sail mast bag give away
3. gun sail universal and base plate
4. slalom advice from Vando!
5. 6.6m Loft blade and 02 demo available.
official kick off is at 1pm and we hope to see every there. Sutton's provides classic redcliffe conditions allowing for slalom and bump and jump sailing as well as small wave riding on the way back into the beach.
so throw on a wetsuit and come join us on the water! http://www.windwanderers.com/Locations.html
well if we had the Sou-Westerly winds usually around at this time of year we would have been at wello.
next meet is planned for bribie then after that is hopefully wello then south of the river at Kirra for a wave meet.
If you guys do end up at Clontarf, and it's blowing a SE, sail across to Sandgate and free drink break on Surf Connect! Wind looks good for Saturday. We got lessons all day at Sandgate from 8am so cant join you guys unfortunately. But have fun wherever you go!
Hey Justin, if you do goto Clontarf, what about a race over to Sandgate? Start from beach to beach, lay their gear at water's edge, and you fire the starting gun. Run down to water and sail off. Get to Sandgate beach, dump their gear, run up to get a number from us, run back to beach and sail back to Clontarf, first to cross line wins It's low tide midday on Saturday so they'll have a good 400m run at Sandgate each way lol. I'm happy to throw a few bottles of sparkies out, our support boat will also be at hand in case of emergency. Let me know if you wanna take the idea on! Sounds fun!
appreciate the offer padi,
but i don't have any approvals in place for that type of thing.
sounds like a good plan to work on in the future though.
How often do forecast lives up to its promises tho :( But its ok, not too much - lessons, too much - I go n play! Yuppie!
Nothing official Justin, just a fun event. But I understand where you are coming from. Down the track perhaps we can run an ironman event - swim, run, wind, kite and (dinghie / paddle board) race?
This looks like fun - wheres my small sail

Umm well 30/40 might be kinda outa my league, think 4.2 is my smallest sail (I'm less than 60kg) but its been well over 12 months since i've used my gear - haven't actually used this sail yet or the board for that matter
Will aim still to come down - might just watch again
well we didn't get the forecast 30-40 knots. in fact we got nowhere near it. however suttons is a great place to sail and have a party. the weather was warm, the sky blue and the wind almost there.
those that had big enough gear got some great runs with big swells out the back and consistent 15 knot winds. the rest of us with smaller gear went out regardless to muck around in the shorebreak and catch some waves.
also available was the loft sails 02 on demo which received lots of praise.
big thanks to Windsurfingsales for helping put the event on and to everyone that made the trek. winners of the gun sales gear were Lfish picking up the gun sail universal and base plate and haggar grabbing himself a gun sail mast bag.
Nice Pics Gesty
Another nice meet, great to catch up with our northern friends again.
Shame about the wind though.
