Andrew, took the Zume5 for a cycle ride around a local park with a Pix1 3(4) and and Vodafon Smart E8 side by side in the basket on a cushion.
Before the test I thought the Zume was not as sensitive as the others as it didn't pick up changes as I waved it around. But on the cycle test it was way better than the other two. It was the only one that followed the true path and the doppler speed was far smoother. The E8 which I thought was most sensitive was the most inaccurate. Jagged speed profile and way off the track. The pixi also had a jagged speed profile was also off track but not as much.
I found gpsLogit recorded speeds less than 5knots on the Zume. Also other apps recorded small speeds. Must be a settings thing on your version.
Blue=Zume , Green= Pixi3, Red = Smart E8

At $14.50 I think I got a bargain gps!

Ran a second test today. Just Pixi and Zume. This time left phones in open sky for 20min first and made sure seperated from each other and as clear of any metal as possible.
Zume track was not as accurate as yesterday and was worse than the Pixi however the speed graph was again significantly smoother.

you can also just install the WindsportTracker App directly from the play store
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.sunbits.windsporttracker

the accuracy is 100% the same, but the app have more features.

Any way to get it without using google play store? I won't use that.

ah ok,
but did you use the google services?

I have to check if there is another good store (play store have the benefit of certified downloads), or do you have some in mind?

you can also send a email to: support@windsporttracker.com and I send you the APP directly.

I'm not sure that the acuracy of the locational data is very relevant except perhaps as an general indicator of reception/signal strength ability.

The Doppler Speed graph is very interesting. That indicates either there is an internal smooting filter on the Doppler speed data, or that the reception and antenna performance in the Zume is significantly better. The latter is what I suspect, as I have seen evidence when testing our approved GPS, that when the reception quality is low and error values are higher, the speed graph shows a lot more 'sawtooth'.

Did 3rd test, This time the Zume was more accurate positionally as well as much smoother speed graph. Yesterday the Zume was near a handlebar reflector. Wondering if this might have caused multipathing I removed it. Also angled the phones about 30 degrees. Yesterday they were laying horizontal. This works best for patch antennas but I read somewhere that phone receivers work differently. First test phones were about 45 from horizontal.
Path was middle of road.

Zume had 11 satellites, Pixi 10 dropping to 9 a few times.
Distanced measured was identical between phones.
On all 3 tests Pixi had average speeds about 0.3knots higher (peaks of sawtooth recording, no doubt).
Screen is brighter on Zume = easier to see in Aquapac and Zume has better touch response.(not hard the Pixi was crap for that)
Zume is slow to charge. Possibly due to el cheapo charger that comes with phone.

My verdict. As backup gps or "talky" the Boost Zume5 is much better than the Pixi3(4) and if you can find one left at a Coles store near you before end of tomorrow (unlikely, none of the 3 Coles' near me have any left) then you could get a bargain gps for $14.50
