Inverloch Speed Invitational

I would just like to thank everyone involved with ISI. We had a great time and will look at coming back next year. I have never seen so many speed runs so well prepared with such glass like water.

Well it was an event held at the other extreme end of windsurfing, the art of going slow was the order of the day. 8.5 Koncept and 12'6" SUP and wave fin was the weapon of choice to take on challenge. At times negotiating my way thru the channels with the out going tide the GPS was saying 1 knot of directional speed, then you would look at the sand ripples on the bottom and realise you were going backwards and it was time try another tack. With the odd puff of breeze you let it push you against the current and get some extra lift of the rail and fin and crack 4 knots.

Made it out near the mouth but not to far as I would of been in real strife with the tide and lack of wind not to mention the rules of the event,..... having to stay in the confines of the inlet. Found some small left hander ripples to ride back and forth to help the av' before the wind really died and I had to pump the sail a lot of the way back.
