Reply received from DEWNR regarding water and weather monitoring station in Middle Lake George:
"We are fully aware that no data has arrived at Lake George Middle Lake for some time.We are not able to fix the site as the lake levels are too low to launch a boat in the big lake to get over sand bar into the middle lake.As soon as the levels rise we will endeavour to fix the site."
I guess that means no data until the lake fills up again in the spring!

Launch a boat? lend the buggers a speed board, that should be enough to get them out there and back or the could just bloody walk out lol
And aren't there launch spots on the middle lake? Last year late in the season Jimbob and I were out there with a fishing boats setting nets, just off cockies. Didn't see where he launched from, but there wasn't much water between the lakes.
Thursday looks good, however there is some conflict in the different models. Some predict a good 30knts
might come over for a jetty dog and a coffee.
Your around Thursday afternoon JB?
I have observed a new scientific phenomena:
The amount of wind at LG is inversely proportional to the number of sailors who are here.
I am calling it 'Sammy's Law'

Anyone keeping count of how many pbs?
Well all I know is my 'P' & 'B' keys on the keyboard need replacing.

Great pic Mark. It has been a pleasure sailing and hanging out with all you Illawarra boys.
I just want to say too that anyone who thinks it is a 'given' that you will get pb's when you rock up to Lake George are very sorely mistaken. Anyone that got pb's yesterday were really made to earn them. I know that from personal experience. I really think there was a lot of caution thrown to the wind considering how far most of us have driven to get here. I can only dream what this place must be like when it's really on.

Please dont blame me but this a collobarition from the only three Roaches that made the trip to LG for a free PB and easy sailing. This is taken at the Illawarra Speedsters home camp where we were fortunate enough to have a few BBQ's with the boys. Come to LG, sail, get 5 pb's and drink. Easy as.

Looking good Boys. Good to see its all about the sailing, not grooming It may be an idea to have at least one shower before returning to wives and families.
Well another trip to LG done and dusted. Andrew and I got to his place last night just after 10:30pm after nearly 14 hours driving through three states and quick "splash & dash" stops for fuel and food. I got home another 40 minutes later after unpacking trailer and loading wagon. That's like flying to the US.
It was a great week, met more great people from all over, had some sweet sailing in quite challenging conditions at times and we got some "easy" pb's.
Totally different from last years conditions which Im sure lots of visitors were hoping for.
Water level very very low.
Mud factor very very high (or deep as the case may be).
Water clarity = zero.
The "Rock Garden" was visited by lots of us.
No famous LG flat water although it was much easier at Five Mile but gustier and lighter wind. also the flies draw blood and the mud is toxic.
Cockies was full on at times.
Its a beautiful place with cool people but don't expect to just rock up and score awesome conditions and pb's. You earn them.
Thanks to all the fun people we sailed with and socialised with.
Seeya next year.
Larko.
A pleasure travelling with you Larko as always. I think that must be our 6th or 7th odd interstate windsurfing road trip. I think our friendship has to be a pretty good one to put up with each other in such a confined space for that amount of time!!
I also want to say a thanks to all we met, sailed and socialised with and a special mention to all the boys from the Illawarra Speedsters who made me, Larko and Dave so welcome. I have just finished showing my boys their pick and talking up our incredible sport in that we can have 68 year olds showing up 28 year olds!!! But then we can't forget that 68 year olds can get lost on a dry lake bed trying to find Cockies. But we won't mention who that might be hey Terry
Can't wait to come back in 2016 to try and grab that elusive 40knots peak. I just don't want it to be 'handed from Mother Nature' though so I better hope the conditions are a bit tougher than they were this year
Good luck to all the remaining guys there and to the new ones rocking up over the next few weeks
Back home now after a great trip and heaps of fun at Lake George - and back to work tomorrow (sorry for using rude language!)
Great to catch up with many familiar faces and great to meet and get to know heaps of other speed sailors.
Maybe we can host some of you northerners at Sandy Point on your way back up north if the weather gods and tides align. PM me if you need a Melbourne stopover as we have heaps of room here.
Cheers,
Peter
I'm working on uploading some videos but the Coffee shop free internet is too slow and my USB stick is running low on data.
Just thought I would mention it to tease y'all.
Painting can wait when there is good wind!
Here are some videos i took with sbcrazy's camera. Thanks Sue for the use of it. Sorry I have none of you here
For those interested it has 1200mm (35mm equivalent) lens. Sorry for the shakes, but I am getting better.
