I've always liked light wind blasting, some of my best sessions have been having low speed drag races with Hard'z where because of the light winds there is very little difference between you and you end up being very evenly matched.
After having a few ripper sessions on the new JP SLW and knowing how poor the winds have been in a lot of areas this year I thought I'd put out there a different type of challenge for light wind Fatty boomballatta gear.
So here it is:

Being a light weight, my light wind board is a 105L hypersonic that I use with a 8.5 sail. Does this mean I cant enter?
Please dont discriminate against us vertically challenged light weights 
I think you have just discriminated out the whole of WA, not many people have boards above 130L
Lighter weights, generally don't have to much of an issue with lighter winds so should be ripping around anyway.
The whole point is that bigger kit although not up with the smaller stuff on a windy day can be and is fun to ride.

60 kg 133 Futura 7.5 Overdrive or Apollo with 8.5 Overdrive/10 Overdrive.
Ive sailed the Apollo with the 10 and it planes on a ****teenth of wind and that is with 86 90 94.278kg onboard.

Bugger! I have some large sails but my light wind board is a measly 111 litres...... not counting the Gemini Tandem that is.............. oh wait, I still have a really old 186 SB Formula laying around somewhere, but man that thing is slow. I'm lucky to crack 20 knots on that thing.

A lot of people have been complaining this winter about how crap it's been yet looking at the data I've had more sessions than ever since I've started logging, nearly twice as many compared to previous years.
This is primarily because I bit the bullet and went out on the Fear Factory (10.9m sail and an old 160L board). I had a ball. OK not above 24 knots but I was out when a hell of a lot of people were grumbling
The beauty about light wind sailing is the water condition, there's stuff all chop, you may not go quite as quick but can still have some great races with your mates which are a lot closer than what you would have normally on a windier day.
It's my opinion that if you are a windsurfing tragic (like me) then some Fatty Boombalatta gear in the shed is a necessity as it greatly increases your TOW.
In all honesty, most of my peak speed sessions I don't remember detail (apart from freckle clenching), but I do remember a lot of my light wind races with Hardie
Also for the fly weights big gear for you generally 120-130L myself being a bit more loved by gravity @ 96kg the big kit is around the 150L mark.
So on the light day's dig out Big Bertha from the back of the shed, dust her of and go out and have fun.
