So when I use the delete function with the utility (computer) or the buttons on the watch I still have numbers come up from my last run? Yes I have tried to delete on every screen as I scroll through them so why is this? Figured by deleting info it shouldn't be there any longer so how is it still holding memory of these numbers? Guess it doesn't really matter but I was always in the habit of deleting all on my GT-31 before a session so I knew it would only be from that day.
It does seem that "last run" doesn't delete, but it's gone as soon as you do another run, so I don't find this an issue.
I guess it's a one run memory, that only needs to be deleted by the next run writing over it.

Yann just added an additional feature, it's now possible to 'auto-split' the different sessions from one single GW-60 file over different days in a very easy way.
Well that's a handy feature, multiple sessions on one file is the main draw back of the .sbp format.
the link doesn.t work anymore error 404 ???

Just hold off for now as there is a new version being tested and will be available soon. The GPSTC testers are sorting out new features and discussing with Locosys exactly what we want displayed on the device. Once complete it will be made public.
Note: With the current software there are no problems with data and using for uploads to sites. Works perfect and exactly what we wanted. The new software is simply to have the display while speedsurfing showing what we want with all categories (hopefully) at the completion of a run. Not sure if Locosys can perform all that we want as there are still limitations to the hardware. They are trying hard for us and very accommodating to our requests. Brilliant support from a manufacturer for our community.
Anyway you will all be made aware once ready to go. Happy days.
Cheers

Ok Thanks a lot
Just a warning to all that dont know. If you hit the adjust button on the first screen after the gps start up (the rubbish bin, yes/no) it will happily delete the file that is in there, without telling you that you are about to delete one of the best sessions you have ever had
I was away for 2 days and didnt upload the results until back at home, then realised there was only one file in there.
As i like to clear the numbers from the previous day, i was not aware that you also delete the whole file from the previous day too. Real shame that it doesnt let you confirm what is going to be deleted, so hopefully Locosys can consider this in an upgrade.
Ahh well i guess ill have to go back ant try it again. It was the best NM ever, I promise!

Yes, the watch only has 1 down-loadable data file with all your sessions on it, delete it and everything goes! But clearing the top RSLT And 10s screens is OK. Afraid you can't do anything about distance that's calculated from the main data file, so is accumulative over multiple sessions.
did another battery test today, and got a slight improvement from my first test of 6hrs 49min to 6hrs 56mins, don't think it's going to get any better than that.
Plugged into computer after half hour had 1 bar back on battery display. after 1hr 2 bars, it's now been in for 2and a half hours and still charging, but showing 4 bars.
I just got my GW60. Now I know I'm blonde, you may have already discussed this but I have a MAC PC, do I just connect the watch up to my computer with the USB thingy and have the watch on UMS to get my files for the day? Do I just upload that data to KA72? The instructions were good if you have windows but I got a bit lost with the instructions for MAC users after connecting the watch up to the PC. Any help much appreciated

Have you read the following topic on Seabreeze?
www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Windsurfing/Gps/GW60-Basic-Upload-Instructions?page=1#17
basically yes, with the watch on UMS you have to do ----
>7. CONNECT USB CABLE TO WATCH THEN PLUG INTO PC/MAC
>ON WATCH:
>8. Press MODE to turn on (or return to clock screen)
>9. Press ADJUST to enter settings
>10. Press START 2 times to scroll up to "TO USB MSC"
>11. Press ADJUST to connect with PC/MAC
As Johns link above says
The watch should then come up with a connection icon, and you should then be able to download your data and send to KA72

That's what we've been telling you, that's precisely how you download on a mac.
Where in the instructions are you having trouble? Then we can help.
Do you understand how to set the watch to "UMS" mode for instance, or are you having trouble after that?

Loaded my first lot of data into KA72 and it worked. I tried loading data the other week with km's set on my watch and KA72 didn't want to load it. Told you I was blonde
Used my GT 31 as well the other day and the results on that were slightly faster than the GW 60.
Thanks for all your patience and help

Yes, I've found this too, clearly this must be a glitch with the watch, nothing at all to do with improved accuracy.
Just a quick update on how the firmware's going.
At the moment the trial version has alpha, 2sec and 5X10, choice of distance in kilometers with speed still in knots, the timer function available in GPS mode.
Speed genie has last run and best for session available in split screen mode, for 4 categorys including max speed. 2s, 10s, alpha, 100m 250 and 500m. there's also the option for full screen mode for an individual category if you don't want the best of session with it.
There's a separate 5x10 screen, showing the average and best five all in small font. if you wait 4s these scroll through in split screen mode.
There's also a top results screen, giving session best for max, 2s, 10s, alpha, 100m 250m and 500m, same as above all in small font, wait 4sec and it scrolls through in split screen mode.
My personal opinion is that we won't get much more than this, so as long as there's no hiccups and everybody is happy with the way this version works, it shouldn't be too much longer before the official version is released.
We just need more wind!
Sorry Dag, I've no idea at all, locosys work very quickly, but I have no insight into their procedure or priorities. We'll jus have to wait, and hope that my feeling that it won't be long is correct.

Hmmmm so I bought the GW 60 for the convenience of just been able to strap it onto my wrist and easy to read rather than mucking around with the pouch etc for the GT 31 but the GT 31 has faster results.......I'm now asking myself why did I buy the GW 60, or is Locosys going to improve on that
I haven't done a lot of comparisons between the GT31 and GW60, but the ones I have done, the watch has faster results.
Maybe you're wearing the GT31 in a less than optimum manner and it's lacking accuracy?
If you check the SDoP numbers that will tell you.
Or on the other hand, on a speed run, if you sail underhand with the front hand, and that's where you wear the watch, try wearing the watch on your back hand. That will improve the watch's accuracy.
Just a warning to all that dont know. If you hit the adjust button on the first screen after the gps start up (the rubbish bin, yes/no) it will happily delete the file that is in there, without telling you that you are about to delete one of the best sessions you have ever had

Oh and I forgot to mention, there's also a "delete log?" sign above the rubbish bin on the log delete button, in the new testing firmware.
The 5xNS and topresult screen can be deleted from those screens, speed genie will still show last run, until you do a new one.
But distance seems to be part of the main data, so is accumulative over sessions. If you don't want to loose a previous session, and do distance on a new one, you'll have to note existing distance and do some mental arithmetic.
Wow, the latest update (when released) sounds like it will be amazing! Timer in GPS mode and distance in km... wow again.
Has anything changed in regard to needing the speed genie set to lower than the lowest speed in the alpha to register the alpha?
Well done everyone
Or on the other hand, on a speed run, if you sail underhand with the front hand, and that's where you wear the watch, try wearing the watch on your back hand.
so which hand is it ???

Um where do I find the SDoP numbers. You must me a real tech guru Decrepit (your nick name doesn't give it away though).
You need either the latest version of GPSARPro, or GPSResults.
GPSARPro, shows them as +/- values in the trackpoints table. The actual speed result is the most likely number, the +/- value is how much it could vary by.
With GPSResults, the +/- value is shown alongside each result, as well as each track, and if you tick the "SDoP" box bottom right of screen, it shows this variation as dotted lines around the speed graph.
For a 2s result.
Typically a GT31 on the upper arm facing slightly outwards will have a +/- of around 0.2kts,
The watch on the wrist varies more, overhand I have between 0.3 and 0.5, underhand it can go as high as 1.5
Alphas are a different ball game, I've seen some very bad tracks during the gybe from GPS units changing their skyview, a lot depends on where and how the GPS is worn. I've had better results when the watch is overhand on the approach run. The GT31 is always better on the head, but upper arm pointing outwards isn't too bad.
