Hello ! It's done and trialed but I would like to release the new wireless version first and clear most of its waiting list. I had a big event a few days ago, another next week, another in three weeks so it's quite the rush to release the new one but I'll get there.
It's got WiFi, inductive charging, a small screen, an insane antenna, two buttons and a very convenient interface.
Great to hear Julien. I think this will be a good option for those who already have an on the water feedback device they enjoy using, but doesn't have GPSTC approval.
Hi Julien, thanks for the very prompt reply.
Im in the market NOW for a new device, can you run through the differences between your 2 devices and Ill put in my order.
Summer is here (pretty much) so need to gear up (one or the other or both).
Cheers Dave
Mike, very good point.
Hello ! Regular Motion is mostly display, very readable, customisable, comes with maps, tracks, statistics, archives. Competition Motion is mostly antenna and comes with a small display you can only check after the run. The goal was to supply easy-to-use devices to competition organisers so they could lend them to users and, on the side, sell extras.
Now, the reality of it is that for the few events to come, most users ended up buying regulars for themselves.
So I don't really know where Competition is going. The next big event that could use them is next year and a fifth of its competitors already have regulars too. I still want to release it as a cheaper alternative but right now I'm drowning in the backlog of regulars. I'll clear that up first then decide.
Ordering on the website simply adds you to the waiting list and is non-binding. If you injured yourself, if you bought something else, if you want to cancel for any reason when the device is ready, no problem.

Oh no! How long is the waiting list/wait time?
Hello, I have at least another month of insanity to pull through to clear the backlog. I just cleared two imminent competitions. Now I'm clearing delayed orders. Then I resume the queue. I'd like to do pictures and explanations of the new stuff but right now it's devices, devices, devices.
Yes it can. It also displays your position.

Hi,
Does the display issue also affect the simple logger?
Many people were hoping this was just a reliable device for GPSTC that we could use along with our sport watches .
I think I got the light version wrong. It's too close to the normal one and everyone prefers the big display.
So I have a very simple device in mind : a good antenna, simple design, small battery life, no screen, no LED, no button, WiFi. I'll have a few days next week to think about it while waiting for the new screens to arrive.

I think small battery life would be a mistake, there's still people out there doing long distances, (24hrs in some cases) 2 simple loggers would be fine for an official record.
I'm happy with my logger, small enough to wear on the head, with 15hr battery life, enough for anything I'll do now.
It doesn't even need to be waterproof, we're all used to putting things in bags. Price and accuracy would be the highest priority I think.
And I think 2 leds,
1 battery charge
2 indication that it's logging.

Your on it Mike.
need some sort of inticator to tell that it's on/off/battery status (flashes for full slow flash for low or similar)
Would it be of interest to any team to order packs of >= 5 simple devices to be shipped to one single address per team ? 160 AUD per device, paid on order. Most likely a special temporary price to get it going. It will be a puck, wrist/arm/helmet-worn, with a strap, with an RHCP antenna, with >= 14h battery life, multi-GNSS, 1-10Hz, about 46x46x12mm, encapsulated, WiFi and inductive charging, no screen, no radio, no physical buttons. I'll pull the trigger at 20 pre-orders.

Terrific offer Julien, I'm keen
+1
And barring an overrule from Capn Calm, I will coordinate the process for Mandurah Mob. Leave a message on the Mandurah Mob Slack app teamchat or pm me on SB.
Great idea Julien, that will solve a lot of out problems!
Go for it Fangy, but I see no need to restrict your self to MM

Good price, I've just checked the materials alone for my DIY logger, and it's between $150 and $220 depending on what bits I use.
Julian, I'll take a set of 5 please. Am sure I'll be able to onsell to my team. Sorry, but don't have your email so I can arrange payment and postage. cheers. note: just found email on your Motion website- email sent.
Fantastic offer Julien. I'll check with my team Pinnaroos and get back to you in the next few days. Happy for you to still progress with my original order of the wireless/LCD version but if screen issues can't be resolved I'd be more than happy with the simple logger. I'll be in touch.
Dan Postle
SEQ speed team have a minimum of 5 and if you require more orders than that
please advice as I PM you early this morning on Seabreeze.
Yes I would buy 5 for my team, will send you an email. Ideally should keep the value of the package below $AU1000 to avoid paying taxes

I think they catch the GST on anything imported these days.
Thanks Julien. I will order 6 please.
That should be able to be kept just under the GST and customs avoiding $1000 limit.
