To help with communication during the event, the organisers have asked me to set up a WhatsApp group.
Anyone with a smartphone can download "WhatsApp Messenger" for free.
Android:
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.whatsapp
iphone:
apps.apple.com/au/developer/whatsapp-inc/id310634000
Then join the group by clicking this link on your smartphone:
chat.whatsapp.com/CfMDH73RzO2AzTFAuZyBBS
The organisers will send out messages to the group with info on briefings, start times, wind conditions etc.
Please keep it as a one-way communication (organisers to competitors) at this stage. Anyone who spams the group will need to buy a round of beer at the bar on Saturday night.
Forecast looking great. See you there.
Sorry. Just noticed a new group and thought it was just a chat for anyone going to Myall Lakes..
I'll behave myself...
This is a great tool of communication thanks James.

Hi Guys, thinking bout coming along to this event. I've been reading up on myall lake and just wondering if a weed fin is necessary?
Cheers
Hi Brad, would be great if you can make it. Looking like being a great forecast for some awesome racing.
You don't generally need a weed fin sailing myall lakes no.
Like anywhere though, I would recommend bringing some in case though.

Brad love to see you here champion,
Just been told two villas available so if thinking of coming not to late. Also camp sites ask for windsurfing discount
Great turnout today for Day 1. First up was a 30 minute freerace in a 15 knot nor'easter, then 6 rounds of slalom in gusty conditions up to 25 knots. Max and Byron with 3 wins each so far.
Plenty of sore bodies tonight. Let's do it all again tomorrow! Briefing 9am, first possible freerace 10:15am.
Just a reminder to join the WhatsApp group to get updates on race times etc throughout the weekend. Seems to be working well so far despite patchy mobile coverage here.

Fantastic event. Loads af quality racing at a quality location. Used every piece of equipment I owned. Thanks to the organising and race team for putting on such a great show. Already looking forward to next year.
Congrats! Wow Dezza you lucky bugger winning the door prize! Let me know when you're going up if you want company to sail..
Great weekend. I just pleasure sailed but it was a terrific place with great company and challenged my sailing.. Ps remind me not to annoy you until you dull that fin down a bit..
Top shots! How did you get them?
Are they Nic's? Boy that lens must be good..It was so far away..I gave my camera to the start boat but they had their hands full..
fantastic photos!!
just to add my thanks to the organisers for this weekends gps/slalom racing, you put in a lot of time in the preparations to make it a fun time for us all. It was great to meet some more people from around the NSW gps community. An event like this provides support to all levels of sailors and encouragement to keep improving. I really enjoyed the gps freeraces with everyone on same water and in same wind conditions, also the slalom racing was very exciting, plenty still for me to learn, but I got a lot out of this weekend. I hope more girls sign in for next year and this weekend can keep running for years to come.
Some general pics of the area and camping area..Just in front of my site - lunchspot and my first launch site
Complete with swans ( these are mobile pics so the swans are much closer in the flesh)
Locals in the general camping area.
Last year it was my turn to break a boom and get rescued..this year it was Rus's..
View from the cafe where we had tea.
Early am in front of my site
Thanks to the marmong sc team for a epic championship. Everything was awesome from the NOR and course location and start line length and challenging course.
We cant control the weather but we got perfect conditions which really tested the sailors .
Thanks to all the competitors for their good cheer.
Looking forward to more racing at this location
Regards Justin
