ROUND 4 - SUNDAY 17th DEC - COAL POINT (New Location)
Round 4 of the NSW Wind Series is going ahead this Sunday, 17th December. Forecast is for a moderate ESE breeze so the team have decided on a new location on the North side of Coal Point - Gurranba Reserve (just around the corner from our normal Coal Point location). Plenty of parking, toilets and great access to Belmont Bay.

Interesting choice. It should be good.
Well that was a great day at Coal Point, for the NSW Slalom Round.
We got 10 races completed in perfect foiling winds, 8-14 kts.
I got a memorable win (F4 660, CHS9.1 FMX91) from the front, a ridiculously close 2nd with Byron (F4 620, Duo 8.9, Fantom 91) and Dave (6.5 wing and 905 foil)... I can't wait to see the photo of the finish! Oh, and I missed a start and gave a few places away for dodgie gybes or late starts and an over early (my first).
A few jellies and a little bit of weed detracted from an otherwise perfect day, with 19 racers on the water! Those windings are getting fast, especially when the wind picked up and one of the kids swapped down to a 500 wing and kite board while the rest of us stayed on 620 (Byron) 660 (Me) or larger.
Unreal day loved having the wings and windsurfers together so much better when there are more people.over 20
Crazy how fast the wings are going.
10 races all up 3 different 1st places including Banjo on a wing. you were insane today mate could have been more but for a few dropped turns.
We were all winners enjoying a top arvo of sailing on lake mac in a fantastic spot.
Crazy close finishes where it was too close that we didn't even know.
The battle I had with Berowne and Banjo was so much fun.
Thanks Murray and Anthony what a day
Heat 5 - Lake Macquarie
Final event of the Series
This weekend Sunday the 7th January 2024,
racing from Noon (11am rego).
Back to the old faithful Coal Point Boat Ramp to capitalise on a great launch location to access the Sand Islands for the forecast 15 - 18knt NE'er.
I hope most of you remember the great racing had a few years back in November 2021 in similar conditions. If you want to be part of the 2024 video make the effort and get along and be part of the series. Will fins make a comeback?
Also if there are any volunteers who'd like to assist on start boat it would be much appreciated and made as simple as possible for you i.e. no course setting, just jump on and off boat at Coal Point to assist with starts and finishers and and we can cover the rest, no pressure just appreciation.
Thanks Everyone for a Great series, Especially all the organisers. If you're wondering, this is Connor who was the little winger at coal point, I also went to the previous cp event and the shingles one, has been heaps of fun. Made a short video from the recent event, footage was from the shore so its not the greatest, really good job on the camera by mum at such a distance.
the video is unlisted at the moment, might make it public havn't decided yet. If anyone wants clips from it I can send them to you.Great video and some awesome sailing! Still can't get over how fast you guys are on the wings. Rippa of a day out there today!
Absolutely great day out!
Perfect NE kicked in early about 15-18 knots by noon and ending with gusts close to 30knots! I was overdone on a 5.0 foil sail in the gusts but range was massive.
11 races run in two batches.
5 or 4 different race winners I can't remember.
Foils dominated especially the first session but Mitch sending it down the first leg on 7.7 and large board was a beautiful sight especially when he made the gybes!
Thanks to MPSC for hosting another ripper event!
I had the smallest front wing at 400, while others were on 550, 620, 800, and even 1050 or 1250 windwings.
Conor had smallest wing at 3.5, some on 4m wings and sail,. plenty on 5 (including me) to 6m (me too) oh and Mitch on 7.7!
Good times!
I put together another short vlog from the day. Didn't get as much footage as I hoped - need a new battery for my camera. Got a few good clips before it died though.
Thanks again to the organisers! It really was a fantastic day. Cheers!

Great footage. Nice to see some fins for once.
Thanks for the extra coverage Bryce! good to see a few different angles from on the water. Definitely some interesting battles up and down the fleet.
No worries! Good fun putting it all together. You guys at the front need to slow down a little so I can get more of you in the video! :)

Sweet videos everyone thank you they really do showcase how good a day it was.
Conner I love your positive attitude and just loved having you guys racing with us this year and had a good laugh at Dave's speedy crash.
Nathan had a good crash in one of the races as well as you Conner, glad no one was hurt.
Many different winners and yes Mitch was flying on the fin with some bullets in the arvo session .
wow 3 events on Lake Macquarie in 3 different locations with 10 races at one and 11 at two of them.
combine this with the states and Nelson bay what a season.
wouldn't be possible without volunteers so a big thanks to Everyone that has contributed to make this season happen.
please upload videos if you have them to show people you don't have to be a PWA sailor to have fun and race with like minded people in fantastic locations.
