Hope you had a good sail this arvo, there didn't seem to be as much wind as the forecast. (I was on a headland looking seaward)
I'll be out again tomorrow afternoon/evening sometime. I have the day off so am going to let the wind dictate the time.

Yes I hope to be out again this arvo; say 4pm-ish.
I had it rigged too flat on the upwind. Avo Andy was sailing higher and faster on his Exocet D2 raceboard.
A lot to learn.

Been out again this evening working on tacking angles. I had the RPAYC fleet to guage against, Damn some of those guys sail SO high and fast...
I'm going to need some more wind to even try to hold off the MC38's! haha wish me luck with that.
ps: There were two Wally's that appeared right at the end of yesterday too so that was 5 guys out all at once, which is something I haven't seen since a long time ago.
A very enjoyable past couple of afternoons at Taylors Point! I couldn't make it out today but am hopeful of getting out at Sand Point after work tomorrow.
I was on the formula board with a 10.7m sail, it is great seeing a few more enjoying Pittwater again.
There's only really one spot to launch from at Taylor's Point. The access is by a little short street (Taylor's Point Rd.) that leads to the public wharf alongside the Navy Base.
A dozen or so parking spots, a little bit of grass to rig on, a smattering of moorings to pick you way through and you're good to go.
Thanks Salty checked it out on Google Maps. Looks like there is a nice distance between the piers and only a few boats.
Yeah, it's utterly easy.
I have the day off today so I'm heading out sooner rather than later, before this wind dies.
I'll keep an eye out Seano and come out again later on the old formula board if I'm not too shagged for a second sail.
Have fun. I have managed to damage one of my discs in my neck, so having some time off sailing at the moment, which I'm finding more painful than the injury itself. Hopefully good to go in a month.

On a longboard? It doesn't really matter much. Sand Point is usual for a SE wind but Taylor's or Palm Beach or anywhere else is just as good.
Sandy point, Palm Beach in a S / SE. I am planning on going out tomorrow about 12ish if wind stays up.
You can launch from Taylors Point but a bit of a vortex getting into the wind.
Thoroughly crappy forecast for longboarding over the next week.
Let's see it might be ok on.. um.. Wednesday maybe. Oh what the hell, I think I'll just go out everyday!
If ever there was a week in which we are likely to find a day that we can all get out together and have a, you know, actual race - this has gotta be it.

I can arrange myself to be free to do anytime on any day or evening this week but would prefer not the weekend due to all the boat traffic.

Wonderful nornoreast arvo on Pittwater.
5:30 launch at Salt Pan Wharf to the north end of Mackeral beach headland, to south end of the golf course/Barrenjoey beach; and fast broad reaches back down to Salt Pan at sunset aprox 7:30.
www.pittwaterweather.com/scotis/trends shows 16 to 18kn average, gusting 20 to 22kn.
If I could stop the centreboard from rotating up when going upwind; and didn't drop the sail every 4th tack and every 2nd gybe I could probably make it there and back in about 1hr 15mins.

Cranking breeze. Not so much gusts, rather 10 minute spells of greater and lesser wind. I certainly had a few stretches with solid 20 knots.
I zipped out on the formula board with the racesail quickly but then realised how windy it was. Whoops, quick board change. Not, unfortunately, before I'd had a most legendary catapault.
Going to be the same but a bit more tomorrow. If fact the forecast for the whole next week is just seriously prime in every way. (er... for someone who loves the colour Yellow and doesn't mind green too much either.)
ps. How did you go with the RS-X 8.5 in the stronger bits today?
Im looking for a RB and wondering which is the most popular, competitive, fastest in your club. Sail type/size would be interesting & helpful.
I aim to sail with the local yacht club as an exercise of having a purpose on sat arvo and maybe getting others to dust off boards & join in.

I've decided that over 20 knots I'd rather not hang on to the flattened out 8.4. I've picked up a 6.6 but of course now it needs a mast all to itself. Sigh.
a few more sessions on the water like this afternoon's would be very welcome! I had forgotten how nice the big rig in a light breeze is to sail after decommissioning it a couple of years back..

After jealously reading of your adventures on pittwater and turning down every invitation from Ayreforce I finally have a chance to go for a sail tomorrow (sunday). I hope to hit the water around 1ish before the breeze gets too strong, launching from Bayview.
Very exciting for me because I have only sailed my raceboard a few times and never on Pittwater. I've got an ancient blue Barracouta 8.5 and a mistral one design board. Hope to see you on the water. Karen

Awesome and thanks for joining in! After 5 days straight sailing, tomorrow is the first that, unfortunately, I can't make it out. Hopefully you'll see someone else out there though!
Seems to be that it's mostly mid week and the last few hours of light that we're starting to get a few boards out on the water together. Next week is looking at this stage like basically every evening is going to be great. I daresay I'll be out most if not all of them.
