At the last Windsurfing NSW meeting, some class representatives gave Richie their draft 20/21 sailing season calendar.
Richie has posted the dates by class and it can be found at www.windsurfingnsw.com/calendar/
Looks like there are entries for: Slalom & GPS
Raceboards
Waves
Windsurf LT
but none for Foils / Formula
Trust me Berowne there will be plenty of foil/formula to be inserted, Glen is finalising details and slotting everything in.
In case you haven't noticed there is a virus thing floating around , which the Windsurfer Class had to postpone a world event !
Enjoy your championships , we should still get over a 100 boards at the newest yacht club in Australia !
I would have thought you would be looking at 150 entries given the class has been going gangbusters.
at last night's WNSW meeting, Bushfire presented the draft foiling calendar.
Richie has uploaded them to www.windsurfingnsw.com/calendar/
Thanks for sharing the calendar, great to see such a full program of windsurfing/foiling in NSW. Just wondering if the Slalom/GPS committee would consider holding GPS event 5 on 6/7 Feb 21 at Lake George SA?
By the end of the season, I expect the foils to have some of the largest racing fleets.
20 foil IQ packages land in July and Starboard could sell more.
You have to talk to Murray & Byron about the GPS calendar.
Will there be classes Within the foil racing - like formula foil, IQ foil & open IQ, and maybe newcomers with free ride gear?
At this stage we don't see that splitting the foil fleet into multiple classes serves much purpose. Obviously the IQ Olympic class is the big new thing and we definitely want to support it, while not alienating non-IQ foilers.
It really depends upon numbers which we don't know until the season starts.
From previous seasons the two divisions in the series are open foil and free foil (which caters for those new to racing and/or using freeride equipment).
As the foil racing series in NSW is still in the "early growth" phase the overriding philosophy is the be all-inclusive to try maximise participation which probably means minimising equipment rules and divisions.
The NOR for the upcoming series is still in draft form so the fine details of the divisions hasn't been tied down.
