Must have jinxed your forecast. Today's forecast....
keep jinxing Clive ,I like your style . red ,yeow, this year might be a PB smasher .
If it actually blows. Holding this event at Easter, right in end-of-season territory, is asking for disappointment.

whilst I like the cooler evenings this time of year, I feel the success rate of getting wind has been lower compared to having it in earlier in the year... This isn't based on any scientific findings, only experience of the past 9yrs

that could be because back in the day when I started windfest I bought historical data from the bom and used it to calculate the 2 times of the year that coincided with low tides to maximise the potential to get wind and tides at their best.
or we were luckier

The following is a table that summarises sailing days per month from Burrum Heads over the last 14 years. The data comes from KA72. I've only counted days with a minimum 2 sec speed of 30kts. Further Burrum Heads is very tide sensitive. It's only sailable with a low tide less than 0.8m occurring sometime during the afternoon. This only occurs on average 12 days per month.
Statistically March is the best month with an average of 38% of tide sailable days with a 2 sec more than 30kts.
April is the next best month but statistically half as good.
Very interesting analysis. Although if we look at just the last 5 years both March and April are the same number of days with 19x sessions of 30 2 secs recorded. The rise of foiling in recent years must've made a difference to # of sailing days but not sure how that could be measured.
Looking forward to getting to Burrum and those warm temperatures again
Whatever it blows hope everyone has a fantastic time! Keeping fingers crossed for good wind for you all.
I couldn't make it this year to Burrum, figures the forecast is the best I have ever seen for the event, have a great time all and I want see some great speeds

Adding April 2023 to your table will shake it up a tad
