Gooday waricle,

Sorry man, you've lost me. I thought my post pointed to some iconic Aussie speed sailing gear of yesteryear, nothing more.

Sorry mate, I thought you were talking about speed under sail

Trying to be positive looking at Burrum 2012 it was if I remember the same sort of weather pattern leading up to the Windfest and it did turn out ok. Not so good was the trip up as many of us got stuck in the floods around Gympie but it turned out to be worth the trip.

How long are those runs? It looks amazing!

I've only been there once. Can someone tell me what it's like in an easterly.
Does the northern run go right along the beach at Woodgate?
I don't recall any exposed bank over the other side anywhere.
I'm guessing less time?

Maybe next time we should organise Burrum wind fest on Hamilton Island instead?

Burrum Windfest - Day 1 Sign on and Briefing - followed by lots of windsurfer networking, socialising and catching with old and new friends as there was only 5 knots of wind. Welcome night- A good night at the Burrum Heads Bowls Club. Thnakyou to the lucky draw sponsors Foodworks Burrum Heads. Windsurfing Gear and extra special thankyou to BOARDCRAZY.

Simon from BOARDCRAZY surprised everyone by putting a brand new ISONIC into the draw. The lucky winner was Dennis Winstanley.

Ooooh! My post has been removed.
Hope I didn't upset or offend anyone.
I was only painting a picture of Caboolture, and took this content from Seabreeze.
I must remember that what I wright might not translate into what I mean from the reader's perspective. (Feeling Humble).
>Orange Whip - Not sure if we've met, but I wasn't having a go. I was trying to relate by having a dig at myself.
Feeling a bit embarrassed. Sincere, humble apology's to anyone offended. I'm a twit.

On a brighter note, It sound's like it's a good time being had up there. All the best. Jealous!!!

Cheers,
Darren.

Would just like to say thanks to all the Windfest crew for another great event. There are many people asking what happened to my results, well my results are the smile on my dial after Mondays session guys. Some nice long runs on flat water. Windfest is meant to be a fun event with mates but clearly there are some not enjoying it for one reason or another. Never have I seen in the history of the event guys and girls being so serious with protests and threats the norm. Remember guys the event is what you make it, its your choice to enjoy it or not. Until next year peace out.

First time at Windfest and Burrum. Despite only the one day of racing I will be back next year. Thanks to the organisers for all your efforts. Thanks to all the competitors of all levels for making this a very enjoyable event from my point of view.
Will be selling it hard to my sailing friends. See you next year.
Cheers, Brad.

Dave, Geoff and Anne you did well and thanks again pitty about the abuse put on you by some.
People don't realize how much work goes into a event like this and we are lucky anyone bothers.
The carry on of one person was discussing towards Dave and Tony.

My first time at Burrum Windfest and had a fabulous time.
Thanks to the organisers for their hard work and great management in the face of the odd bit of criticism.
Sadly it seems that every "lost in space" has a Dr Smith (or two).
On a happier note it was really great to catch up with old sailing mates and mentors Steve and Byron from down south at Lake Macquarie who just seem to be getting quicker as I get slower!!!
I enjoyed the company of the friendly and helpful group of sailors who made me feel welcome and will be back next year older and slower.
Also good to put faces to familiar names from seabreeze. Yes, Peter Warwick is Waricle who does all those posts that get more incomprehensible as I get more inebriated
I also wish to lodge an official protest, I reckon I should have won the Isonic board board so generously donated by Simon at Board Crazy. And thanks to all the other sponsors for their support.
A great lot of pics too!
Unfortunatly the weather cut the event short but as a couple of local sailors found their regret today, there is debris in the water after the storm!!!
See you next year, as Arnold said, " I want you clothes, your boots and your motorcycle "

Windfest is about windsurfing to earn beer credits for the evenings activities!!
If we all have this as our aim - than the event will be a success for years and years to come.
This was my second year - Thanks to the organisers, workers, sponsors and fellow beer drinkers.
After 2 years - this is now my yearly pilgrimage. Even thou the weather didn't play ball this year - I still had a ball.
If you have not been and are thinking about it - get on board!!!

Thanks so much to the organizes Anne, David, Geoff, Dylan and Glenn and Rob for making sure we had cold beer and sausages at race HQ each night. Pity about the weather but was still glad I got a chance to come up for a few nights (didnt think i was going to make it at all this year)and the wind blew then for a great day on the water.
highlight for me was sailing with my son in the lovely flat water just a buzz to be out there and catch up with everyone

Yep well put Richie. I just dropped in on the Sunday and Monday due to work commitments and had a great laugh (if perhaps maybe a couple too many beers / Scotch / Rums / red wines ) and a great sail on Sunday.
Great fun, well organised and definitely back next year.
