Hey everyone,
I have been wanting to try and organise a bit of a freestyle session for a while now to get the sailors together from around the place who are either into a bit of the new style trickery or just looking to make the first steps into learning some old school carving 360's or whatever.
I am thinking that the long range forcast for the weekend, sunday is looking good for such a thing and wanted to put the word out to see if anyone was interested? Wello is nice and flat on the inside (despite the kites) which is great for freestyle.
I also have my (still for sale :)) 09 109ltr freestyle and some of the 09/2010 sails to use if anyone wanted to have a demo of some freestyle gear. Maybe we could have a clinic or something.
Anyway - just putting the word out to all the budding (and guru - HC thats you boy :)) freestylers/sailors to get the idea moving.
Cheers,
Will
will be there if there is wind. hopefully new sails will have arrived by then.
been putting some time into vulcans lately, but not too much success, would be nice to have some expert critique!
Good one Raging Bull...
I'm working this weekend but have every second one off, so can you make it on my good weekend? ... and windy too!
haha - sweet da vecta.... maybe this can be the tester and we tel you how good it was!
trauma - i hear you have HC's old JP - good stuff, would be awesome to sail with you - its been a while :)
swoosh - theres plenty of advice to go around (albeit possibly wrong hahaha :)) and i always find watching people go for stuff really gives you a good idea of the body positions etc. Ill throw the good old tricktionary in too so we can dream about landing planing one-handed burner to flaka.....
looking forward to it - come on wind!
dang!, i'd be keen to join in with this type of thing also.
only thing is i'll be drinking and gigging all weekend.
awesome - im glad there are a few people who are interested! its always great fun sailing with others who are learning similar things to you, and makes the challenge of landing something before there rest even more satisfying.
peace.

Hey bud im moving to brissie in the next few weeks and i would be up for some clinics etc for sure, count me in
the 2 moves i've seen will do were very close, actually a little to close.
he did a forward loop that blinded me with spray and then some gay kiter move where he boosted jumped and then grabbed the rail of his board.
[}:)]
hahaha - gay kiter move! Ill take that :)
its never too close unless you actually hit someone hahaha!
hey guys - so its looking pretty good for sunday arvo at wello! as i said this is pretty informal so rock up whenever!
Is there anything in particular thing people wanted to learn?
Cheers - very much looking forward to it!!!
Peace
Will
It'll be north-east and high tide in the arvo. We'll be weaving through the kites.
I would really like to get a close up look on dry land at the way you pop for a vulcan. I can't get off the water popping from the middle of the board.
It would be pretty cool if someone could spare a bit of time on the day to get some of the moves.... or stacks, on video or still camera. Should make for some educational and entertaining viewing!
cheers notwal - does that mean we should go elsewhere you think?
I have a video cam that i think i can get a hold of if someone wants to pilot it!
I plan on being there most of the arvo (leave pass approved ) so I'm more than happy to do an hour or so behind the camera. I will be easy to find as I will be the one wiping out all the time!
Would love to come Wilba, but have some last minute wedding preparations I should probably attend to more
Forecast looking good!
Btw. I have a JP Freestyle board left, 91 litres, year 2007/08. If anyone is interested to try and maybe buy this one, let me know and I'll bring it to Wello.
