Nice afternoon session with friends.
5 of us sailing. I got there a little late (night duty malaise )
Had a few runs on the BIC 283 with Ezzy 8.5. Wind died off pretty quickly towards the end
Had a great first run determined to get into rear strap before board picks up speed. Success
Recorded 20.9knts lifted PB by 1knt!! - still a while to go before I catch Morgan and Tony
Had a fin spinout pinching up wind - managed to get it all back under control - happy about that
So a short session but worthwhile time on the water.
Cheers Jeff
Nice pb Jeff and rear straps woo hoo no holding you back now mate
Looking good for Friday at Bongaree or Sandstone at high tide, we had a good session with Jeff and Dave and the boys till the wind dropped.
Jeff is using back straps with more success too.
Great mid morning session at Sanstone with Steve and Pete
They got an early start with 8.5 rigs right on high tide. I was delayed doing 'mums taxi' so only got the last hour of the outgoing tide
Took a gamble and went for the shortboard instead of raceboard. Ended up rigging the 9.5 Severne Raceboard sail as it's the most powerful low wind sail I own.
Went out on the JP Slw with a 66 fin and Wahoo had a great time powered up with both feet in the straps. Life is great!!!!
Don't want to rub it in however Pete is getting slower as he ages as there were reports from the shore that he couldn't catch me
I had that perfect feeling on the water, in the straps and full stretch out over the water - I could want for nothing more
Love the JP SLw. Reckon I'll use the big severne more often in marginal conditions - it's a real 'tractor'
Cheers Jeff
Thanks to Pete and Steve for the encouragement
Best days sailing for yonks, light wind but enough for 100% planing on an 8.5
Jeff, Steve and I sailed from Sandstone and john sailed from Bongaree, I sailed over to see John and it was choppy in the channel but flat over at sandstone.
the downside was that we ran out of tide- and I'm not getting slow, Jeffs getting faster, that's all.

Woo Hoo Jeff - nice nice nice - I had a look out there today but alas no wind - where is the video
Hi Morgs
After getting grief for taking too long to setup I decided on a low overhead session :-
No video
No GPS
Missed an opportunity as I really didn't expect to get going given how patchy the wind was.
I'm thinking now that I've got a setup that can get going in the lightest of breezes. When I first turned up I was regretting packing the shortboard and leaving the Phantom at home - so yes I truly surprised at the fun I was having in such a gentle breeze
Video and GPS next time ;-)
Woohoo that was a great read. Congrats Jeff you really are getting into it now. I am stoked for you mate. That sail/board/fin combo sounds like a really sweet setup.
Cold and gusty afternoon at Bongaree. Tony Nowork, john and myself on fatboards
Some nice planing runs in flat water with 8.5ezzy.
Gusty and cold
Will from Bribie dropped in for a look on his freestyle gear
Wind looks good for tomorrow

Back to bongaree today
I struggle in gusty choppy conditions
Got absolutely outclassed today in gusty winds. Reckon I'm back to the f2 comet for big wind days.
Felt very humbled
Board abandoned at jetty!!!
Board and rig left by jetty (don't ask what I'm doing going under the jetty!!) hoping high tide or theft end this madness of trying to sail in gusty choppy conditions
Long walk back down the beach with the gpslogit mocking me "5,5,5,last run 5!!!!"
Went back after a while and the board was still there! Ah well always tomorrow - maybe back to the Comet for gusty chop?
Cheers Jeff
Feel your pain Jeff.
That must be a good spot when the tide and wind is right, but it is a biatch when it isn't . Props for continuing the battle, you are due another good day soon.
If it was easy they would call it kiteboarding and everyone would be doing it.
Bongaree can be great in a southerly, southern Easter and south westerly but westerlies are westerlies!!!
For sailors staying local on Sunday I've organised to meet brad at sandstone pt early. finishing around 12:30 as we have afternoon commitments most likely longboards
Cheers Jeff
Went sailing at Bongaree yesterday with John.
He was already there so I asked how strong the wind was and he said 12-14kts so I chucked in my 8.5 and the big Thommen board.
When I was driving over the bridge I noticed whitecaps everywhere and I thought hmmm strong 12-14..
when I got there I thought, well I'm here so I'd better rig. John was on a light wind and 7.5.
The wind meant sailing straight across the passage and the steel was close and choppy and about a meter high in places against the tide runout
the wind was closer to 16-18 with some big gusts and occasion lulls to 12.
I made it out but had to do some radical tuning just to hang on to it.
After tuning it was manageable and had a few runs till I started blowing gybes and getting tired
My 7.5 and Naish 140 would have been perfect on the day but I didn't bring them did I ?
all in all a great afternoons sailing, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
Se winds sandstone point over powered on 8.5 Ezzy with the JP SLW singing across the chop. :-).
Sailing with my mate Pete
A few good runs with both feet in the straps.
The sailing season is underway - very happy and inspired.
Early morning longboards at sandstone today
Myself , brad and tony 'Nowork'
Back and forward across the passage
Was thinking that less than a year ago the passage looked such a long way and really rough
Today enjoyed the run and had fun riding the swells
Expresso coffee and jam drops by the beach after a great session
Life is great
Cheers Jeff
Nice one Jeff
I was looking at some of our posts a year or so ago the other day - how we have advanced
Cheers
Morgan
Feeling tired and battered at work today after 3 days of sailing
Just saying boys ;-)
The season is underway - 2 days to holidays
Ready for the Lake
Any more of this and we might need to wear our brown board shorts on Friday!
I reckon I may go into ORBIT if the winds are delivered
Thank you gumtree
