chairman - i might do train tomorrow. I bit suspicious about NE winds from mid september onwards down coolangatta end not actually materializing if u know what i mean. huey tends to put the 12-15knot cap on it after mid day

Nope, took off from next to Wynnum creek. Good spot, nice rigging area, lots of parking and a sandy beach. Very good for those of us that will not wear booties.

It would seem the wind is a bit better there when from the north, at least it seemed better than Manly.

mermaid beach was aweome for about 1 hour or so, big ramps out the back, but then it died in the butt around 3ish and the combo of bigger swell and lighter wind didnt work.

Had 3 of us out, was good to see.

See what happens tommorrow, about time we get a few more out there.

I was really, really indecisive between Mermaid and the train driving for a sail yesterday. Ended up "train"ing it - mostly because of the unknown traffic to and parking at Mermaid. I left Helensvale at 2pm so probably a good call actually, I only got an hour or so of wind.

Where do you park at Mermaid? Car park opposite the surf club? Anyone else up for a blast in the ocean if it (somehow) picks up this afternoon?

-now 11am and 10 from N. Hey, that rhymes.

11-13 and swinging to NE. I'm getting all excited about nothing!!! (hopefully not)

Trauma: If you haven't sailed the Train in a NE when the sand bank is exposed, like this afternoon if it picks up, I highly recommend it. Keep an eye on the wind chart, might be picking up:
www.seabreeze.com.au/graphs/qld4.asp

BOM still has:
[issued 0436 Sunday]
DOUBLE ISLAND POINT TO POINT DANGER
Sunday until midnight: NW/NE winds to 15/20 knots reaching 20/25 knots at times
south of Cape Moreton in the afternoon. Seas to 1.7 metres. Possible late shower
or storm in the south.

If anyone still wants to talk me into the surf I'm up for it. Means I can bring the family too - extra karma points.

Hey ep, don't you think wello is the place to be (well, at least for today). Brisane Airport 4-5 kt more than choochoo. I really would like to 'take' the train on a NE, but it is not really blowing there. Btw., didn't go to ikea; so, still some money left to com e down to the train ;)
