I have no doubt!!!!! that is on the assumption that my design is not a pig

Friggin truck didn't turn up, tomorrow I hope

Wouldn't it be better to email the file & have the laser cutting done in Perth & save on transport?

I got no response from the 2 companies in Perth that I contacted.

Final bottom shape, we decided to try inverted V rather than concave, thrillseeker!!! It looks way more severe in this render than reality, just the lighting and shader I used and the fact it is modelled to intersection. You may also notice the subtle twisting V chamfers near the rail starting at 800 off to lift the rail shoulders in the front half a bit more so there is no fear of them catching chop. Hoop has everything now to forge ahead so there will be an actual on water review at some point in time!!! It is going to be an interesting board. Need to think about some simple graphics now.

White sanded finish deck with bright orange center fading nose and tail. or bright orange and lime green center fading nose and tail ?? Red thumbs for orange only or green thumbs for orange and green combo.

It appears the orange green has it. Revised it a touch and threw another one in the mix. I sort of like it, I think????

Orange the front runner out of those first two, but what about all green or all purple?

Yep, I think Orange purple is it provided I can get a really nice intense purple paint.

The board in the video is one I designed for KA.s Peter Weitenberg. It is really similar to the board Hoop is building me, same outline and rocker, just a bit thinner and has a more conventional bottom shape, double concave to V. If I can talk Peter into visiting in Summer and bringing the board with him it would be really interesting to do back to back comparisons of what is effectively the same board with different V setups.

Hoop is steaming along and it is looking good!!!! Inverted V channel bottom looks like the chop muncher it is meant to be and the cutouts look cool. Can't wait to test this baby!!!

Yep he is for sure. Thought some viewers might be interesting to see a board go from original concept to completion, hope it is not too boring.

And also Tim the bottom is not full carbon, it's S glass with a strip of carbon up the guts under the PVC and carbon around the tail. I got Hoop to use black resin so when it is painted white and sanded it will have an even appearance. Not sure it would look that great just clear coated.
But main reason for not having a black board is just preventing it getting too hot when sitting on the beach.
I do love the look of clear coated carbon though !!!

I Like black deck and white bottom because that's how I lay the board on the beach when rigged.

Hoop back on the job after a few weeks off. It's looking great, he's doing a super job. It is almost there, shape looking alright if I don't say so myself.

Well, it is pretty much done and I think it looks bloody awesome. Fantastic job Hoop!!!!!!!

Sorry Melbourne sailors, looks like the curse of the new board is about to be upon us. At least this one is for 15-22 knots so it might blow 30 knots for the next month!!!

So this pretty much that ends this thread, just need to get the board shipped from Perth and hopefully the next post about it will be an actual gear review when I get it on the water. I would very much like to thank Hoop for offering to build this board and I am in awe of the skills displayed in doing so.

I hope some of you have enjoyed watching the process of a sketch idea develop through to an actual product. I am passionate about design and this process, it is what i do being a nutty designer, it is in my DNA. I also like the idea of supporting the small number of talented board builders we have here. I would hate to live in a country where we no longer make anything so try to do my bit.

So I have just placed an order for a couple of weeks of sunny skies and 17-22 knot winds, let see what happens.

Thanks
