Picked up my new Reflex6 6.2m on the weekend. I have not used it yet but rigged it and took some pics. I like the new colours.

Noice bendy man. They do look great with that splash of yellow. Probably perfect size for the wind you WA guys have been getting recently too.

PS - Needs more downhaul

Looks like the foam protection sheet is a great Christmas present for the young fellow too.

Rowan was using his new R6 7.0m yesterday in 20-25 knots. Specs from memory were 204 boom and 460 luff.

Do Severne release a new model every 6-9 months or is it my imagination

The yellow colour adds something to the look of the sail.

The red shinny material at the top looks awesome too.

Looks sensational. Keen to hear how it flies, but possibly a bit too late to add it to my Santa list...

Have seen a couple in the last week at the beach.
They do look nice & rig spot-on straight out of the bag with just a bit of batten tensioning.

Some clown has already nicknamed them the "Twistie Bag" and another commented on the clear batten pockets, "makes it easy to see where the batten is snapped"

Always someone out to bag your new toys

Enjoy Bendy.

The new R6 ROCK

Had my first outing on the 13th and 14th and used 7,8, 7,0 and 6,2.
The biggest different to the R5 is the even lighter and more direct feel, it just makes more fun racing.
The 7,8 seems to have quite a bit more of power compared to last year, but removing the spacer on the 2 lower cams helps to extend the range. (I'm still using the red hard mast, maybe the new mast fit perfectly)

Now all gear is on the ship down to Okinawa for the annual Toyota cup, which means that I have to enjoy wave sailing for new year...
Lucky the KodeWave 92 just arrived

The R6 really look great and fast. I just got mine R6 6.2 from Cyril and can't wait to try it but here in Croatia is currently snowing and -15 degrees Celsius so the waiting game will continue!

What is the red cord on the head of the sail for?

Good question. I have been sailing Severne for years and never worked that out.

Maybe you can pull it over a screw driver wedged into the ground to help with de rigging or to hang up your sail for washing down.

I don't think it looks strong enough. There is a white loop there anyway. I remember with yachts sails you could pull on a thin cord like that to increase the leach tension but can't see how you would tie off the one on the reflex. Awesome sail though, used a 8.6 R5 the other day and the pull was so direct and effortless and cam rotation a dream. When the gusts hit it doesn't feel like you are fighting the sail, I just locked my stance and board just accelerated.

got a 10.0 and 11.5 as a bit of an early christmas present
had the 11.5 out a bunch of times now in a range of conditions
very impressed, very consistent mast foot pressure even when overpowered and sheeting out
looking forward to getting on the 10.0

Okay, now I really want one, but a step smaller than 7m.

That luff tube looks bigger than some of my sails! Enormous. But the cut of the sail looks absolutely boss - nice deep & low draft, and a drum-tight luff smoothly transitioning into the leech. Some serious stitching and x-ply going on at the head. Pure sail porn.

That reflex tensioner on the second batten looks only centimetres from the leech - surprising that it does anything different to a traditional batten system that close to the leech. But I suppose racing is eking out every micron of performance.

Its the beautiful colors in the new sails that enhance the lawn .

I think we need a Lawn Review page lol
