Bellbuoy forecast looking "Stupid Windy" Sun. Bruny could be sweet if it doesn't get too big too quick.
Relic I'm definitely up for Cloudy Sunday, need to go early and back early. It's turning WSW around 3pm so need to out of there by then, we also miss the queues on the ferry......any more procrastinators willing to take on the best wave in the state .
7.30 or 9am ferry over, then back on the 3 or 4pm
Mr Rob and I are in. 7:30 ferry so we've got time up our sleeves. Final call on a go tomorrow pm. Carlton for A warm- up tomorrow.
swell is up according to reports from Park bEACH. head high plus
wind says 20 knots st Carlton w/nw at 1pm.
For those staying local , looks good Tomorrow at Carlton swell for sure and 26 knots w/nw midday.
Looks like a fun session
What are you boys and girl planning tomorrow. Might come and take some snaps for ya all
After 2+ hrs sailing and getting washing machined a good number of times in the shore break I might go Mortimer tomorrow. Swell meant to drop a bit too. Wind meant to be towards 30 knots after midday around most southerly sailing spots.
Awesome shots Paul. Fantastic shot of Jez
Is Veitz camera shy? Or is he just keeping a close eye on his paint job.
Thanks Buzzy...the new glass makes a big difference! Sigma 150-600 Not bad for a cheapo lens .
Appleman just doing JP quality control!
Cloudy Bay Mission is a GO We'll be on the 7:30 ferry
Yes, I'm back from sea, the wind is on, the swell is looking good, and there are windsurfers heading down to the island !!!!
Relic, look out for my troopy and I will come and intro myself. ( I literally have a number of 'fires' that I have to extinguish first thing but I will be there )
No worries. We're on schedule for the first ferry. You can't miss us; you'll see the silver vintage Disco extracting the VW out of the sand on Cludy Beach
Cloudy Bay ... A solid 25Knots a bit on shore. If you're going to sail onshore conditions here is the place to do it. 500m runs along the wide flats between waves in front of some mast high sets, with plenty of jumps to be had. NNW to NW with 4m + swell would be ideal.
sorry guys,
carlton was one of the best sessions today.
still cross shore enough for down the line andjumps everywhere
Good effort guys going to Cloudy but the grass is not always greener!
Sounds like it works when Carltons on unfortunately needs a strong pure NW and a largish sw swell just like Carlton .Looks nothing like the lumpy , super windy cross to cross on we had at Carlton today
The clubbies were down looking for some practice, came in pretty handy for me and Rob when the wind dropped on the first session
Then the wind cranked in fully powered on a 4.7. For onshore the grass was as green as an Irish spring. Shoulder to head high with great jumping shoot out the back jibe.......or tack........yeah whatever............ aim for the car-park, backside riding serious sh.t big waves a good mast on the big sets smooth and fast, hit the beach, fully plane back up inside to the cars then shoot back over and out.................. and again................and again
Sorry about scenery
I hate to skite.............but you know me just can't help it
Well done to the Cloudy Bay mission crew!!! I managed to get there after the domestic fire fighting and only got as far as the jet ski crew in the car park , before getting the call that it had sparked up again when the wind cranked and the flames had all burst back into to life. .
By the way Houston, sensational effort in getting the van that far up the beach on that tide,( albeit with a handy rescue partner ) the sand just below the dunes can be tricky at the best of times over that stretch. Great pics as well.
Guess I'll have to keep on doing the Jem Hall lessons till next chance.
Glad to see you were rewarded with a sail for your efforts to get here.
Sorry Jez and everyone. I didn't get any good shots of Jez, feeling bad I made him a nice one. Below is the real shot, followed by one of Applemans that I'd left out (someone call bull%$it please)
Thanks for the piccies peoples, man that was fun That dog photo is soooo cute. Think you have a new profession Buzzy.
