Hey guys we are planning a Stanley weekend it looks like it should be cooking pretty nicely up there according to the Guru! Myself and my James (10 yr old) are heading up are there, are any other young sailing buddies keen to go? Embo, Thorney and maybe Jordan are starters. Any one else heading over?
Parky
If the forecast holds Parky... don't listen to what they others say, calling it early doesn't make the forecast change!
We are heading through Exeter way Saturday morning probably meet Thorney near Devonport around 8 ish. Staying at Stanley caravan park their ba kpackers is only $26 a night leaving plenty of room in budget for important things like steak and beer!

Steak and beer is so awesome.... hope your having mushroom sauce or im folding my arms and not going
I had a fight with the waitress there last time because my mushroom sauce got missed.... I was worse than Manu when he didnt get any sauce
Marrawah is a good place for steak... just stay away from the Brides.....
Anyway back to topic... where are we going?
Has anyone sailed the east inlet on a NW? would be great to know if it works on that direction.... I know SW is awesome but have never tried a NW.....
Windalert saying SW some other websites saying NW at this stage
NW is a good direction for the northern end of East Inlet. Wind may have a few holes coming across Green Hills. Ive had a couple of sessions there. Haven't really seen it live up to its potential. If the wind behaves it could be good. And if it swings more to the west, you'd be in the right place.
Weather systems are looking volatile and unpredictable, but with a bit of luck and timing, I reckon there's some fun to be had.
Good luck fellas, if we weren't away I'd be there. Not much luck here, board still hasn't seen the water yet but I did pick up some new gear on the sunshine coast.

New gear is good... Hope your getting a few quality steaks into ya too mate.
Thanks for the info Baz, forecast on wind alert is now SW building from 10am Saturday... Game on
Yep have so, and I must say they are very good. Especially when your lacking any other form of warmth up top
Had a good sail today in the West Inlet first, then as the tide went out went over to the Eastern side.
See you there tomorrow...
Myself and my two amigo's are planning to arrive around 11:30 ish. Turn the rain off for the arvo Geoff please?
Looking forward to it would be a massive understatement.
With a total of 9 on the water at Stanley, it was, as always, a great spectacle - even through the rain squalls and mist, the looming 'Nut as our background... the locals in the bar were most impressed yet also resorted to name calling and questioned our mental capacity.

Tidy Johnny tidy!! What an initiation into one sick sailing spot thanks guys!! I have just placed an offer in on the shack at east inlet 😁 things I do for you blokes !!
When do we go again?
25 knots but hold the hail/57 knots thanks 😳
Hail = Good use of a helmet!!! Looks like a fun day, always fun to sail with more than just yourself.
Spot on Jez, not even fork lightning would put me off...
We were all huddled in the water and under sails for a while.... Pretty sure Cookie was herding sand snails at one point...
Yep I'm sold on Stanley as Tassies no.1 slalom destination! Worth every drop of 80,000ml of diesel !!
