Ginger Pom has pointed out another reason windsurfing can be fun in light winds and planning does not have to be part of it. Old school freestyle is fun. You can see from the video even old beginner boards and storm sails can be used. The WOD were great and still are as well as Wind SUP for this type of sailing. this type of sailing will help everyone with their stronger wind sailing and it's fun.
I think all of us when we can get out and sail should, regardless of it planning wind or not.
See you on the water.

Couldnt agree more, I spent two hours yesterday on my SUP with a small sail doing flare & duck gybes, tacks etc - all the stuff I cant do on a short board, even just gliding along in <10 knots and enjoying the serenety of it.

Today I raced my wind SUP in the WV Course Race series at PYC with WOD and other race boards. Was heaps of fun and a very competitive setup
