It seems as if Birubi was only last weekend and already Heat 2 is on in two weeks time! I'm sure this one will be a bit more fun in some warmer conditions!
A big thanks goes out to Stuart Bell Sails and Exocet for putting up some great prizes for this event, without sponsors these events wouldn't happen!
This event takes place just 20mins north of Coffs Harbour on NSW mid north coast. Woolgoolga has the ability to offer epic conditions in both port and starboard tack. It's by far most famous for the renowned southerly wave sailing spot flat rock, but is also equally as good in a nor'easter aswell. If we dont get much wind at this event don't stress as there are some great surf breaks nearby so we will run some just for fun surf comps aswell. This event would be by far my favourite on the calendar.
The event will take place from the 4-6th of october and will include a BBQ on the Saturday night. Rego will take place from 9am-10am on the 4/10/08. For those wanting to travel from sydney or nearby flying is a good option or taking some extra time to drive up. Accomodation ranges from houses, motels to the caravan park which is right on the beach.
For any details please either PM me or call me on 0406554354.
It is the next beach to the south of flat rock fo a nor easter. Also you can get 4wds on the beach up there so the event will be great fun with music blaring and all!
So how good was it? I was working and missed the session up here aswell, im a little jelous! Me and MA plan to head down to Gerroa on the occassions its goin off...or should be goin off.
In reality it was only about 2inches and every imaginable direction, would have been good for qwerty I recon thats if he wasnt too busy hiding in bushes. Alex had a good surf and I had a good pie. Great weekend
just thought it should go back up the top since its next weekend.
ps i was told by a friend at the bom theres a big southerly on for that weekend, fingers crossed, cant wait
hes just clown to me. however i have been known to give some comedic education to the flyingfox over the years.
hows it going over there bru? gotta give you points for perseverance, I thought you would have been back after the first taste of winter ( which isnt that different to summer as I recall)
yeah, winter pretty cold. real cold. surfed down in chch mid july, thought my hands were on fire it was so cold . 9 deg water i think... glad to be out of the sth island, although kaikoura is a dynamite surf break. off to taranaki today, so hopefully some wind there over the next week
. maybe spend summer in new plymouth - hopefully get some work there. then will reassess climate. you got any dirt needs carrying up bellvue hill mansions
