I kitefoil on MA 1050 v1 for few seasons. Always using small kites 2.5m, 4m, 5m, 6m, 9m in very light 10-13kn. Usually my kite is smaller than wing sizes same day or similar.
Recently I bought MA 700 v2 and 178 tail. Needs a little more initial speed to get on foil may be couple kn. It's faster but I don't feel way faster again may be 5kn faster. Turns much easier and faster and sharp, but I think it's due to stab is flat. First day I felt more front foot pressure on the same mast position, and it was very pitchy on ya. Next day moved it back 1cm to compensate, it became more even stance and surprisingly got pitch stable on ya. Was able to do all my tricks first day 360, h2t and t2h tacks, rodeo rides - had to seat more forward.
Unfortunately had no very big swell, but even on small knee to waist swell it rides way better. Glides very nice and smooth, turns easier, accelerates into swell if i have to catch.
So far I liked a lot specially in strong winds. For light wind It's harder to keep it flying when I switch stance it drops if speed is not enough.

Hey guys. What do you think about multiple
foils setup for 82 kilo intermedia rider.
- Light wind
- Main from 14 knots all around with casual riding on wind swells, downwind with wing.
- performance speeeeed (racing?)

i tried ma850v2, sf1080 and sold them. sf1080 was slow for wind swells but with good low end.
850v2 was good all around but not so stable at high speed as HA.

Now I have HA1250 with s178 stab which I'm using from 8 knots with gutsts 10-11 knots. Glide is good and speed for low wind is good. But I can't go faster on this one. My main board is KT dragonfly 95 liters and Ocean rodeo AA in size 6 and 4. Probably will add 65-70 liters board mid length close to the start of the season in October

What is your suggestion about possible quiver ?

my front wing makes a ticking sound after every turn. I have already tried tightening or loosening the screws and using mounting paste between the front wing and the fuselage!? anyone have an idea!?

Anyone here been on the new DW front wings (1400, 1100, etc) and (anhedral?) s192, s142 stabilizer?

Despite the name (DW) keen to know their suitability for the different disciplines e.g. DW wing, wing surf, wing freeride.

Though available not sure they've been launched (e.g. with designer videos)

Thanks!

I once had a clicking sound underneath me but that was because my bolts (mast to board) were coming loose. But that was once and the cause was clear

A mate had that sound too , ..when I took it for a spin I noticed it aswell, we put it on the beach and applied pressure to the foil and the sound was coming from inside the board the mast track cassette block was creaking and moving , ended up being a Warranty,.... board was replaced,...

Any news? I would be intersted in the DW1100 for winging, esp. maneuver ability...
And the new stabs

For lightwind I still stand with my old MA1350, is there someone, who has compared that wing to MA1200V2 or MA1500V2?

Thanks

I have the same question - MA1350 vs MA1200V2?

Just sold my old MA1200, which I used lately for both winging and (very slow) kitefoiling, both with C600+S210.

The MA850V2/S178 arrived yesterday and I'm surely covered for kitefoiling. But the bigger MA-V2 are sold out in Europe and until back in stock in about 3 weeks, I can get a very cheap MA1350. Is it worth it?

Looking at the specs the MA1200V2 should have same or better performance than the MA1350. Anyone has the thicknesses?

MA1200V2 - Span 875 - AR 6.4

You have to tell us a bit more about yourself (your weight and level, board volume, wing size).

What conditions do you ride in and what type of riding do you want to do with your future front wing?

Have you tried winging your MA850v2?

Right off the bat I'd say skip on the MA1350 (v1). It's an old design.

thanks for sharing. Pretty uninspiring I gotta say in terms of new items; in their defense, the existing collection is pretty complete though.
I think their HA set is in need for an improvement.
Boards line-up definitely misses a "midlength" shape in the mix although the Seek finally gets a much needed revamp (longer + narrow.

Wingfoil beginner 76kg, 108L Indiana board, but need to size down soon. Wings 4, 5, 6 and 7m, but I feel a good starting technique and a good foil foil should make my 7m Nova Light Wind obsolete. Planning to test and get the new North Pro wings. Mostly lakes/flat water, when strong the wind is usually very gusty (and a good gliding foil makes a differece). Started end of last year with the 1850R and transitioned to the MA1200 pretty soon. But none of them is good enough in lighter winds, nor has a good top speed.
The MA850V2 I intend to use for kite foiling (MA1050V2 is sold out too) and boat/cable until I up my wing skills. Most of my foil experince is cable/boat. I have no interest in jumping. To tack&jybe comfortably is my next goal.

Anyone know if the SF830 can be run with the s215 stab or must one really have the s185?

Both sXX5 stabs are for the SF.

totally fine with s208 or s178.
Actually I'd say most of the riders I talked to or rode with, prefer much more running SF930, 830 and 680 with the S208 and S178 as the Sxx5 with speed tend to point down the board and are too slow.

Geometry of the Swell seems very close to the Seek's one. Dont you think?
I still believe they could have made the Swell closer to a midlength, longer and narrower in order to offer something more unique and different from the Seek...

Agree w above, 208 everyday driver, 178 if powered up. I break out the 215 chopped to the dashed line for light wind and pump. I like the 185 on them as well. It really does come down to what you want to do. If I'm pumping and don't mind going slower the 5's. Anything else the 8's. I just got the DW1100 a week ago but we've had no wind at all, she's sitting dry for now.

Had it out for a few sessions now. Works as advertised - stiffer and thinner, really nice. If you buy new I would choose the HM, but I think an upgrade is not necessary as the CF85 is also a great mast.

Thanks mate! At least the SF range is available here in EU.
Meanwhile I got the MA850V2 & S178 and managed to test them last 2 days at the cable park. What a treat!
From 20 kmh (the speed beginners are riding at), to the max 40kmh this setup works just great! No front foot pressure building up as the speed goes up!
S210 works fine too, but for higher speeds the S178 is worth every penny. Pumping is also a tad easier with the S178.

MAst/fuse CF85/C600 and I will probably get the new C650 for winging once available.

Start using the C600.
You won't go back to 700.

Do any of you who have tried several of North's foils have any recommendations on which wing is best suited for light wind foiling? I then aim to mainly focus on getting up in the least possible wind, but if possible also fun to use.

I weigh 95 kg and currently have sf930/c600/85 mast/s185 which I use together with a 63l board in winds from 13 knots. I now want a light wind setup with a new foil and board to be able to cruise around.

Can maybe the DW1400 with a Horizon board be a good alternative?

My main board is KT dragonfly 95 liters and Ocean rodeo AA in size 6 and 4. Probably will add 65-70 liters board mid length close to the start of the season in October

What is your suggestion about possible quiver ?

Same weight, 98l seek, same level:

With 16kn+ stable wind I use the HA850 with 178, great speed and glide. This is a crazy foil. Try to test is!

Have a SF930 for gusty and low wind 10kn+. Lots of lift. You can go slow and play on waves. Has btw surprising speed if powered. Works great with 208. Have also HA1450 for 8kn. If you get it out of the water you don't need much wind anymore.

Biggest wing is a strike v2 5.5. Tried bigger but A 5.5 gets me out of the water earlier then a 7m. A 5.5 is big enough. Easier to pump.
