here is another video of someone who had the chance to try them all:
Today i finally had the chance to try the new DW1400 with a wing. Based on the comments from Uli and MProject04 i expected poor turning ability but honestly it is not that bad. it is not as nimble as my SF930 but after 10 minutes i didn't have problem freeriding it. I even landed couple of jibes on foil and plenty off foil. I was using 215 stab still waiting on the new DW stab.
Basically i wanted an ultra light wind wing and i think this is it. Love my SF930 and its low end but i think 1230 would not make a great difference. I was even considering HA1400 but it would probably have problem with stall speed.
What i found especially weird is even in very low wind when i pumped 2-3 times but didn't take of the foil still gains speed which didnt drop imediately so after 2-3 seconds when i catch my breath i pump just once or twice and im up. It seems that it can carry momentum for quite long time. It was not just one case i had like 10 moments like this. Newer had this happening before with any other foil. When i pump i ether mange to get on foil or not and it is game over, if my pumps are not constant
Anyway what im trying to say is dont be afraid to use this foil for winging. Im 70kg intermediate rider at best with my 100l DW board and if i manage to ride it so can you...
Appreciating the info. At my 63kg and with light summer breeze season just upon us in Mauritius I too been thinking how to best maximise my light wind winging efforts. (My current two light wind go to foils are the SF930 s208/s215 (with seek 78L for more playful turning freestyle gybe turning wing spin duck tacks, cowboy, etc practicing sessions ) and the HA1050 s208/210 that I use with my custom DW board 7'2 x21 at 100L , cf85 f700 for more simpler lazier cruising sessions. The latter gets me going in around 9/10 knots steady breeze. If it lulls below (so becomes a gusty 9/10 knot top end gust sort of session then still struggle a bit getting DW board to release off the water Oh & 5.5 mode wing). Hence why I've been wondering whether the more recent design releases of North's downwind foil's would work better than the current HA1050 combo I'm using. (My dw board ha1050 combo works about right for me and even lets me turn, gybe tack fine when got it going in a touch more eg 11/12 knots. Your feedback on your dw foil experience given me motivation to consider the dw foil range (I'm only wanting it for cruising around on the wing on light breeze summer days in the beautiful turqouise lagoons on the island. Essentially looking to use in 7/8 knots minimum with hopes it'll get my dw board up and flying where I'd be struggling with my current set up. Unfortunately there's no chance to demo kit it here on the island so only option is heavy reliance on online users feedback. I'm guessing that around a 1100-1200 ish dw foil size would suit my lighter weight better? or would 1400 still be the more useful step up in size over my current ha1050 with my dw board?
The DW1100 has an amazing low end. I wouldn't go any bigger.

From the comment section it seems that the turning is still an issue even on the DW750...
Not sure if it is worth getting the DW750 if I have to cut a couple of cm on each side to make it more fun for winging ...
I have been there with the HA series already...
Specs for the dw690 and dw820.. looks like both with 900 span
I have bought new S192 to pair with my DW1400. It took me couple minutes to get used to it but I think is fine now. If relying on brute force you need a little more pumping to get on foil than with S215 but with proper technique i recon you can start faster than on S215. It has relay nice glide, once you are on foil there is almost no need for pumping trough gusts. The speed is also quite decent, on flat water i get about 17knots max which is about the same as my SF930 in waves. Owerall quite happy.
I have also tried to pair it with my SF930 and it fellt like crap. Upwind was horrible, whole setup felt very shaky like i was foiling for the first time. After 10min i changed back to 215 and it was much more stable. But it is kind of slow so i guess i will have to get s208
I paired the s142 with both dw1400 and sf1080 and I will admit at first I thought something was wrong underneath me. I thought the stab was catching air bubbles and it felt 'soggy' almost, and I easily breached. Till I moved the mast a bit forward to get more front foot pressure and then it clicked for me. Nice slippery glide and reactive pumping.. little inputs translate to forward glide. Maybe try that?

I've had about 4-5 sessions winging the DW750 + S178 + C600 + HM85 on a Vert 4'6 - 30L.
I'm 78 kg.
My go-to used to be the MA850v2 from 10 to 40+ knts. However the DW750 just became my favorite foil.
(I've only had 2 sessions on the SF680 and it was also epic, I'll have to retry them back to back on the same day - maybe tomorrow)
Low end is ridiculous, very fast as well, keeps up with shoulder high lake swell easily, it also easily pumps to the swell ahead.
Turns SURPRISINGLY well for its width.Breaching wingtips without ventilation is a walk in the park.
I did a 23 km - 1h upwinder (no harness lines) on a lake followed by a 16 km - 45 min downwinder in 20-25 knts (waist to shoulder high swell) during which I had to use my wing for about 30 seconds total split in 4 instances which included restarting once after a fall.
It was nuts how easily the DW750 linked all the swells with minimal to no pumping.Felt like a pump track.I won't get my S142 until end of December and getting my S192 this week.
Haven't used the DW750 with anything else than S178.
I highly recommend that you guys give it a try for winging.
Oh yeah, I made my girlfriend try it with the setup above, she's 55 kg, and it became her favorite foil as well.
I initially bought the foil thinking that it would be my bigger, faster swell foil for SUP DWing, but it's a beast winging.

This is exactly how it felt. I was breaching 3 times in a row and had feeling like something was stuck on it, like seaweed or maybe air bubbles like you mentioned. With dw1400 i already moved it a bit forward the second session and it was way better but for SF i put it in standard position. I will give it a go.
With DW wing i had sort of similar experience but not to that extend. At first 15 minutes i was like WTF is this??? Its not stable impossible to jibe... after 45min i was like ok maybe there is something to it.... after 1.5h i felt i could get used to it even landed couple of jibes, felt somewhat comfortable at speed glide was excellent. I guess it just takes time to get used to it...

Where did you find this information? Are you sure you are not mixing it up with the "900 Black" color code? Would not 900mm wingspan for these wings would make them new designs with lower AR compared the the rest of the range (something that could be very exciting)?

The way I read it it was referring to size and not color. It's something I saw via someone and isn't yet published.
My 2nd S208 is Quiet . Been out yesterday with the MA850v2 and the s208. Very nice combo! Could push it at really high speeds and the wing boosts high
So how did you resolve this?
you purchased a second one - or did you get a warranty replacement?
I just did my last sanding session on the S178.
Pretty annoyed at this point. If it still doesn't work I will switch to another brand next season.
I second the issue raised above... there seems to be a disconnect between North and their shops.
North customer support tells me to demo stuff at local shops.
Local shops tell me they don't get any demo gear - so e.g. testing the new HM mast vs my current CF mast seems impossible.
I third the demo issue. Even in a place like Hood River, no North DW or SF series demos are available. North suggests asking the retailer. The retailer suggests talking to North. Maybe some additional emails to North will help resolve/ bring awareness to this problem. Not sure what else to do. Recently demos were available for Core, Slingshot and Armstrong. No North.
I ended up buying a new s208. It is Quiet. Also i have the HM mast now, and that one feels so damn smooth.
What i find really annoying is that nothing is on stock. The fuselages have been sold out for months now on their website, also my local retailer cannot get anything new. Same was with masts. I wanna have a spare fuselage, or the new C650, but it still not in stock. I've been having allot of warranty 's that have been taken good care of. But i missed allot of on-water time because of the above issues..

having same issue here in the uk
I've had quite a bit of time on the 80cm UHM Mast. I've really come to appreciate it. You'll feel a difference immediately but its when you ride it high and really only have that thinner section in the water you feel that extra little frictionless burst. Hoping they come out with a 72cm UHM as well. We have a lot of shallow areas in our Bays and our waves break on shallow sandbars, sometimes 8cm's makes a difference.
Still waiting on the 65 cm fuse and Glide Stab's here Stateside.

I have a 1100DW.
Hey, currently mainly riding SF930/600/S215 and i find it pretty hard to keep the foil straight. It feels like the nose wants to go down all the time. Could different stab sort this problem ?

Doubt it.. S215 made for SF. Could be a lot of things.. foil too much to the rear. The 600 fuse is more pitch sensitive too
What is your weight? I tried the 600 fuse while my 700 was broken. It was horrible. I think for lightweight 70-80 kg the 600 is okay. But i find it very unstable. Last summer they already came up with a 650 fuse.. but.. did anyone ever get it?. Everything is always out of stock. And if you need something it takes weeks for it to arrive.

I suspect that it's your board. What board are you riding? What's your weight?SF930/600/215 is a super stable in all axes, beginner friendly setup.
Had a chance to wing both the SF680 and DW750 foils.
Both are next level!
I rode the SF680 with the S178 and C700 fuselage. My previous favourite was the MA850V2 and the SF680 will replace this. I feel that it has almost the same low end but more glide and more agile turning. More feedback to come.
I rode the DW750 with the S142 and C600 Fuselage. The glide and pump ability of this foil is next level. Easily had the longest rides without the wing that I've ever had. The foil feels a little unstable, unsure if it is the non HM mast that I'm using or the short fuselage. Going to try it with the C700 next.
Hey, planning to chop S215, riding it with sf930, what change should i expect
I chopped mine right to the dotted lines a year and half ago. More than anything it will feel looser in turns. Maybe a tad faster and I don't feel like I lost any pump ability.

I'm on the SF680/C600/S178 for the last 5 months, winging bay stuff, big windswell and crappy surf, so good. @lucasUK as long as you have power in the wing and can pump it, you can get it going, I'm prob 80kg in winter gear on a 50l board. I've low ended my 3m wing in 17knts and once flying it doesn't drop out like the HAs, very similar to its big brothers but oh so much more responsive.
I'm tempted by the DW750/S142, might get stab first but wondering the front wing negate my use of the SF? I get one is surf and one is downwind specific but winging kind of blends both those elements and both are probably too small for prone and/or downwind specific activities at my skill level for those. Glide and pump is what is tempting me but would I be headwrecked choosing between the two :-)
@UisceBeatha
I have both the SF680/S185 and DW750/S178 - 78 kg - North Vert 4'5 - 30L - used for winging only so far and with an anchorman.
I just got, today, the S142, so I'll be able to report back on it in a few days.
Tried the S192, but way too big, slow, unresponsive for my weight and style of riding.
As amazing as the SF680 is for its surface area, the pump, glide, efficiency, drag less feeling of the DW750 is next level.
Very low stall speed. Lower than the SF.
Turns very well and feels quite loose for its given span, but obviously not as nimble and playful as the SF680.
I was riding nearly exclusively the MA850v2 and once I got the SF680, I thought that it would become my one foil quiver.
However, when I tried the DW750, I fell in love with it. The glide is just NUUUUUTS.
I have a DW690 and S122 on order already.

Feck it! sounds good thanks for the feedback. DW690 and S122, wow, hadn't heard about those - hope they are out this year.
Would s185 work with SF1230 for an intermediary. I know riders guide say it's too small but nevertheless
