I don't ride a smik (yet) but this is a brand that is punching well above its weight. Looks awesome and nice edit. i have those same boardshorts

I have now been out twice on a 5m demo from the North Freo Stand Up/Foil Shop and I had a great couple of sessions. Everyone went out on 4m wings but I could only get the 5m demo. However it still felt so controllable despite being oversized for the conditions. Love the soft handles. Great work Scotty - congrats!

Looks good. Glad there's a brand offering wings with no windows, softer handles and conventional materials.

I'd be thinking about putting some silicone over the exposed nuts to avoid any chance of board damage.

They are covered in production model.

Tested the 5m and 4m today.
Hard to believe, but better than my 2022 Smiks; more power and yet easier to control in big gusts, handles are so comfortable too.
I will be spending money tomorrow...

These look like they tick all my boxes too. Currently on V2 Strikes.

I'd love to demo these.

Perth shops have had them a few days. Can't imagine it will be long for the East coast to get stock.

Standup Surf posted a few photos to their facebook when they got the wings in. You can see the plastic cover over the screw fittings on the production models.

There is also a hard rigid handle option
you can buy separately.
The handles look Similar to doutone unit, for those who want to bash their boards up. I like the fact Scotty has offered both handle options to use. Definately a SMIK looking wing. Made using standard materials (that can be easily repaired) and no windows is a big plus in my view. This wing is top of my shopping list now. Would be good if he added a 4.5m to the range just to have a few more size options.

Is there information about weight for each size?

Very similar to the V2 which was very light. They drift well. I do not have scales here.

I'd like to see the bag and the folding method.

I hate sloppy floppy bags and wings that require silly folding methods or excessive stuffing to get them in the bag.

The hype is real. Demo'd the 4m today in 15knots. Amazing wing. Handles are a big improvement from the v2. This wing is top of my shopping list. Good work Scotty.

Picked up my 4 and 5m last week.

Now a downwinder and 2 days at Lano south passage down and can agree with all above comments. They really don't disappoint!!!!

I was a little sceptical as to what improvements could be made as the v2 wings are so bloody good but wow these wings are another level.

Super well balanced and flagout is unmatched with anything I have used. The flagout handle is stiffer and this equates to easy control when on a wave.

The two mini boom style handles are great also. I have not used this style before - the power delivery felt direct and tacks/gybes are a breeze.

The wings are still super light which is something I consider very important yet the construction is also really solid using standard materials and nothing that is overcomplicated from a repair perspective.

Yesterday at south passage the wind backed off heaps so I cracked the 5 out. Wasn't sure if I'd froth as much as when on the 4 but jeez it performed really well also and kept me on the water when some others were struggling.

Bring on more of the same - and well done Scotty and the smik team.

Picked up a new Smik v3 today in a 4 metre. Orange colour really pops. I like my wings fluro. I've switched over the front handle to rigid to see what they both feel like. For anyone doing this it is super simple. Use a small diameter 8mm hex socket with a long extension. I like the fact the handles are held in place with two bolts at each end. This should provide some redundancy and better pullout strength for the handles. Good job Scotty. Water testing tomorrow.

Hey guys, excuse my smik v1 related question.. just had my first wing ding session yesterday after proning for a couple of years.. was going down wind city beach to Trigg with a more experienced mate who sold me the v1.. anyway about 1km and nearly 800m out to sea from trigg I managed to pull this tube out while trying to grab a handle, releasing half the air from the ding and making it pretty much un-sailable for my skill level .. not ideal ( my mate also told me he had seen a 2 m Tiger shark off Floreat).. anyway he suggested super gluing it ? I'm putting it down to sheer incompetence and hopefully I'll be more careful but at same time don't want it happening again while learning! Anyone smik riders had this issue and any ideas, modifications?

I'm unknowledgable about your brand of wing however have had the same thing happen on a wing I had a while ago. There should be a cap that slides over the front connection same as the back that locks it in position. I reckoned my wing got too hot in the sun & the black rubber tube got too soft so popped off with the pressure. As a short term fix I used thin cable ties to hold them on but protected the sharp ends of the ties or wound some copper wire around it.

Ive got thin cable ties securing this on my old Smik 5m since a bladder replacement and have had no issues for 2 seasons.

Sorry for my English I am writing to you from France (Brittany).

I like these Smik with 2 types of handles. One could even imagine that Smik offers an adjustable and adaptable boom according to the size of the wing. That would make 3 possible choices. It didn't seem difficult to me to do.

And then I really like the philosophy of developing a high-performance, lightweight wing with classic materials.

I do not know the price they will be sold in France. To be continued .

Got the new 4 metre V3 SMIK out on the weekend.
heaps of power and very stable flagging. Tested it against the v2 in the same session. The v3 wing is in another league. I liked both handle options, but will probably go with the fully rigid I think. The solid handles feel so direct in tacks and allow easy one handed riding.

Agree with how good the 4m is, used the 4m for the first time yesterday and it was awesome. Soft handles where fine. Have the hard front on the 6m will see how that goes.

Well a major about face. I tried the hard handles on the front of my 6m and liked it so much I have installed them on all my wings front and back. More direct than the soft handles. More comfortable.
