Well a major about face. I tried the hard handles on the front of my 6m and liked it so much I have installed them on all my wings front and back. More direct than the soft handles. More comfortable.

How the low end of the 6m? Is It grunty or have to work it out like f-one strikes ?

Very grunty. Apparently there is a 7m as well but never seen one.

Any updates on the v3 wings? I am starting to see numbers of them around on the water.

How are they holding up? Any stretching/bagging? Bladder or valve issues?

What sort of range are people getting, particularly in the smaller sizes?

Mine are all g after heaps of use. I have 4/5/6 but could do with a 3.5 for higher wind. 105kg rider.

Thanks for that. What wind range are you getting out of the 4m?

I had a demo of a 5m and it was pretty good, especially in the low end. I'm hoping to be able to try it again to test in strong and overpowered conditions.

I'm interested in a 3.5m or even a 3.0m. I have tried/bought small wings from other brands and they've been twitchy horrible things at the top end, but gutless at the bottom. If the smaller size is good then I'll look at changing my wing brand to Smik and progressively change my quiver.

18 knots plus. Have had it out in 30 knots and it was still manageable. A 3.5 would have been better.

I just tried to put my post in but it got wiped when sending! So here is my summary for my new 4 metre wing. I haven't tried it out yet.
Likes: Handles are closer together & should be easier to reach compared to my 6 Metre Cabrinha X2 Wing.
Yes the handle nuts sit in a recess.
Pump valve is simple to pump hose connection. No need for an adapter.
Build & quality looks great.
Bag does the job with backpack straps instead of one shoulder strap.
Has repair patches & washer.

Concerns: 2 hoses from Leading Edge to Strut. Would another valve be better?
Hand leash length. Is it long enough?
The bag zip got caught in the mesh. Took about 10 minutes to free it without breaking the zip & mesh. I managed to free it by holding the mesh down from inside the bag to pull the zipper up.

Hopes: To get up on foil easier than the Original Naish Wingsurfer.
Less back winding & upwind ability than my 6 metre Cabrinha X2.

I have a 6m smik with repetitive pinholes in the bladder. Just learning to wing so older gear suits my risk of falling into it.
Any idea where to source bladders . wing says fw v1 6.0 c4
Thanks

Hi guys ,

I'm in France, I have a fairly "solid" build of 1m89 and +/-110kg and I've been starting Wingfoil for a few weeks with a Naish Hover Ultra Carbon 6'6 x 33 (140 liters) board, an Axis foil with wing BSC1120 and Freeride 440 stab and a 6m? Wing Smik V2.
After a few sessions I realize that sooner or later I will need 1 or 2 Wings in addition to my 6m? in order to be able to go out in maximum conditions.
I will need your help for those who have owned the Wing Smik V2 and V3 (see V4) to give me your opinion on what would be the best size options in order to be able to go out and fly from the minimum possible wind to 30 knots.
I was thinking of a "large" 7m? V3 or V4 which according to feedback should be more rigid and powerful than my 6m? V2 for the Light Wind but for the "small" Wing I don't really know, a V3 in 4m? or 5m? or a V4 in 4.5m? ????
The goal is to cover this wind range from the minimum possible to 30 knots with Wings which are not duplicates but which complement each other as best as possible.

Thank you for your opinions and help!!

Friendship

Well

Have a 4/5/6 V3 quiver with solid handle option which at 105kg covered me for most winds. The 4 struggles in 30+ so thinking of a 3.5/4.5/6 V4 quiver. I only ride in waves and dislike being overpowered and I live where we get lots of wind. If I lived in a less windy location maybe a 4.5/7 combo might do the trick. I use the 6 a lot though it is a great size the 7 may feel too big.

Thank you Hilly for your feedback !!!

Indeed, large Wings of 7m? or more are not always very popular but with my size (1m89 and +/-110kg) and given that in the summer here in the South West of France we only have Thermal type winds after noon which are not necessarily very strong so this type of 7m? Wing is, I think, of interest to practice as often as possible...

On the other hand, where I have a doubt is about the size of the small Wing, if I go with a V3 model, what size would be the most complementary to my 6m? V2 ???

The V3 in 4m? is given for 12/25 knots, the 5m? for 10/25 knots (the V4 in 4.5m? is given for 12/25 knots) so I don't have the impression that there is a very big difference in high range.... Knowing that my 6m? V2 is given for 10/20 knots and a 7m? V3 for 6/15 knots, I would tend to think that a 4m? V3 would be best....

Opinions !?

At your weight the 5 will give you the best range. The 5 is my go to wing.

After a lot of reading on the feedback of the Wings Smik V2 and V3 as well as watching KR on the Wing V3 I understood that the V3 models are much more powerful than the V2 models.

I was thinking in addition to my 6m? V2 to move towards a 5m? V3 and a 7m? V3 in order to have 5m? / 6m? and 7m? but with a little doubt about the 7m? for its size and the opinions of many people on the large Wings (+6.5m?) which are ultimately not always very pleasant and manageable.
So if the V3s are really much more powerful than the V2s I could either take 4m? (V3) + my 6m? (v2) + 6m? (V3) or 5m? (V3) + my 6m? (V2) + 6m? (V3) or 5m? ( V3 ) + my 6m? ( V2 ) + 7m? ( V3) knowing that my goal is to sail from minimum wind to 30 knots with my 6'2 and +/-110kg).

If V2 and V3 owners can give me their opinion, that would be cool!!!!
