Thank you for apologising, but it's still incorrect to claim that I'm in an ivory tower. It is dishonest for you to do so, since you don't have any evidence for that claim. I can still remember as a kid, listening to someone who later murdered his wife in a DV situation. im not the one who needs the help. Perhaps if "Queensland car fire guy" had received help when he was probably at a significantly low point in his life, this might not have happened.
Just how do you stop it from happening again if you are not interested in finding out what caused it in the first place. Of course it's wrong what he did, but saying it's wrong and nothing justifies his actions will not stop it from happening again and again. It's not the first time this sort of tragedy has happened and sadly probably won't be the last. No one is trying to justify what he did, they just want to get a complete picture in the hope some sort of intervention can take place prior to a tragedy like this ever happening again.
