Why go for copies like a multistrada or tenere when you can have the real thing

Oh the ignorance... www.motorcyclenews.com/news/new-bikes/2010/march/mar0310-history-of-the-yamaha-tenere/

I bet that horse trailer's really for the GS.
Changed your final drive yet? It's coming

I'm guessing you've only ridden it down to your local Gloria Jeans, put it through some real world riding and see if you fair as well as Charlie or Ewan...

Good luck picking either of those behemoths up when you drop them

Already dropped mine... no trouble picking it up.
Now putting a foot wrong and trying to keep it up is another matter for both.

Look at this marvel
Comfortable seat, webcam and beautiful dashboards.
This baby dragster don't need to worry about air dynamics
The only disadvantage that cost 1000x as much as Hayabusa

No plans to use the gs for pulling the horse float.

Didn't know about the final drive issue, think I would have preferred to remain ignorant. Is it still an issue as it seems to date back to 04 or 05.

I was referring to the Horse float for pulling the GS.
Sorry mate .

Truth is they still suffer terribly with reliability.
Most Super Tenere owners buy them for reliability, as the GS beats the ST in most areas on paper.
A GS forum www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php/315524-Finally-Decision-made-re-R1200GS-or-XT1200Z-Super-Ten
The ST has 0 known issues, unless you count the rack mod recall (overloaded rear racks could snap on 2010) and some wheel spokes oxidize.
I won't list the GS issues.

The good news is that if in the first 5000kms yours hasn't developed any problems the chances are good it won't for quite a while.
My BM developed strange noises @ 600kms, and was wonkey from the factory... BMW eventually bought it back off me... I did a straight swap for the ST... 0 issues far and it's my daily commuter.

Trouble with bikes is the slightest accident can have fatal consequences.
Probably not even a dent in the car's bumper.

My wife has her own bike. Riding bikes is how we met in the first place.

Accidents can be avoided - lane-splitting in the rain? Bad decision, consequences out of proportion but that's life.

How many people died today of pointless, stupid things? More.

Just the UK, just one year...

Looking at that above chart I don’t know weather to feel lucky or unlucky as I have so far avoided many of the listed ways of death listed :)
Even swine flu 147 and motorcyclist 347

But that only increases the chance of death across many of the others :(

^^^ Many? Seems you have avoided all of them so far?

According to above diagram I might have to consider wearing a helmet on stairs as I'm almost twice as likely to come to grief there. In fact I will avoid riding the bike on stairs altogether
