Look, jokes aside, I didnt say anything about depression

i did dispute the link between being funny and depression, i also dispute the fact that there was hardships that someone as privileged as williams faced that someone as poor as me couldnt fathom

i do suggest, based on experience, that drugs thucked williams, simple

I do mock the out pouring of sympathy from people whose relationship with williams is based on his work as an actor, hey, his work still remains, you can continue your relationship regardless of williams personal problems, eg death, because nobody new him personally

i suggest that the over the top out pouring of grief, sympathy is not geniune, and has no merit to the williams family, as you people didnt exsists in williams life
i suggest is just wusses doing what they think there supposed to do, no benefit to williams and family, more of a tosser collaboration for the benefit of the tosser writting it

you can try to talk down to me, but it doesnt matter to me, pffff, depression, drugs, yeah, i reckon by the time i was 14 i dealt with more of both the above then most you tossers,

seabreeze isnt a place were i would let anything out, your not amongst friends, a handful of ol white yuppies, cant sail, ha, what, cant buy ability?

it is soooooooooooo easy to sit back and post what you think others will want to hear, its easy, boring, weak ass crap, fancy growing men, caring what others thought of their shared comment via green thumbs etc, pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff, yeah, i have no problem treating this style of person with virtual contempt,

most of the people on here, think its thier way or go away, typical ol aussie, conservative, not used to being challenged, lack of depth, its truly my pleasure
i love fighting, had nearly 200 fights with gloves, why do you think im fighting with all on here, i created it, i love it, i just wish there was some intelligent opposition, there isnt, theres a lot of cant shoot for crap hunters cant sail for crap sailors, a lot of ol people talking politics, yawn, they actually label it heavy, ha,

dezman, you seem mildly ok, just ok, thats it, your just ok
whenever one gets excited, happy it releases dopamine, alot of the time mild depression can be triggered by getting to happy, to excited, the high and low of the dopamine rollercoaster,

there is alot to suggest that limiting dopamine, eg not too happy or excited, will help keep the dopamine levels from being depleted, which leads to depression

they say by slowing increasing level of happiness can have a big impact on managing depression, whatever, good luck

so you have a forum , where having a difference of opinion is encouraged, but you wanna put boundaries on how much difference?

...

I thought the thread title was a bit of a give away. A subject where people could post fond reminiscences of a performer they liked. The "RIP" was a bit blindingly obvious.

At what point did you decide it was appropriate to come and post a spray on how crap the guy was and how crap people are who like him? Would you do that at a funeral? Would you go to a wedding and tell people what a whore the bride was?

If you want to have a discussion about depression and the link between comedy then start a thread on that. Here's a link to help you www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/post.asp?method=Topic&FORUM_ID=74

You know that impulse control disorder is a form a mental illness. Perhaps you should think about that the next time you want to plaster the contents of your brain all over the internet.

Robin would be laughing now if he was alive...... He would see the joke in our behaviour.

To Robin's detractors, you are fulfilling your role. You are loved.

Wiliams was still a good actor/comedian!

What info do you have that support your quote above Did you know RW

A mate of mine who does suffer from depression/chemical imbalance recently became medicine intolerant. He spent nearly 12 months in care and for a while had to have a note pinned to the bed side table to remind him every morning when he woke, were he was and why.

He is good now and back to work and moving forward. But that guy is probably one of the best tradesman i had ever seen. A bushman and all round Aussie bloke. He made me feel invincible on water, in deserts or in any build or underwater cave. He doesn't do drugs, really doesn't drink much, If really at all.

If i hadn't seen in first hand i would almost deny mental illness. But it crippled a man so easy. Mental health issues are a real thing, in fact its been easier to see the physical effect than a few cancer sufferers i have known..

Your above quote still lends me to think you really have no idea, or i could be wrong and you possibly have some first hand experience with Robin Williams and his personal health issues, If thats the case i apologise.

Jim Carey and Owen Wilson come to mind alongside Robyn Williams. I guess it's probably more at the forefront of media given their fame and popularity, but man o man, it just goes to show depression is a real issue and one that non sufferers need to be educated about.

RIP

Robin williams on the other hand was a funny farker .

pffffffff, name one Williams movie that was funny then me, myself and irene, pet detective, liar liar

forget the link between comedians and depression, its more a link between drug addicts and depression,

I guess he was sorta funny, .............................for a white guy, especially if you like heaps of energy, and lots of jokes told in a hyper homo-Spanish style accent

^^^^^ I happen to agree with you, that manic bit got old real fast for me, he was always in the same character. It was funny the first time but after that...
He was a loser, a drug addict, he did too much coke, he married his kids baby sitter, a drunk, not funny anymore, then he committed the ultimate selfish act and left his kids fatherless. My only hope is this triggers a wave of celebrity suicides

+1.. left his children fatherless, that's the kicker. I did not mind his acting and did find him funny with his more mainstream tv, movies not so much the rest.

Well for me there's always great fun in ripping the dead, pulling up everything negative I can find about someone I never cared for.
Did you know Robin Williams dumped one of his wives for the babysitter? Every time some interviewer would ask him about that he would go nuts and scream that she wasn't technically the babysitter when he married her, whatever.

Seriously people we wonder why the country is f'd look at this topic. Some people need to harden up, just because you don't like an opinion you get all upset and have an apparent quirky comeback that has no value.

Red flags are a good indicater that the person does not get onto forums whilst stroking their tool and offer a true opinion, not some suck reply to make them self's feel better because the majority will agree or green flag you.

RIP does not mean a topic goes in the direction of the op - its for everyone to see and contribute if they wish to, positive or negative.

I'm not an old, boring, crusty, conservative upper middle class wuss...................................so, yeah, I'm gunna stand out

I havent done anything wrong on this thread, except sound insightful, funny, awesome

most of you mock religion, so.............................. the whole, sensitive to RIP, seems in-genuine,,,,,yeah, I dont know where you think robin is going?......dont care

the sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer arrogance of most sailors off the water is the part of seabreeze i find most delightful
lets take this thread for example.......................

i know, its classy, its an unauthorized virtual funeral service for robin williams, by some old sailors in Australia, who although never met him, did watch some of his movies, so, yeah, its serious
all are encouraged to speak, but only comments that are similar are welcome

and then you'll get heaps of carry on, crying, sheer panic and distress for any measurable difference in opinion, in life's experiences mainly because this is a serious genuine thread

the site is called seabreeze, its about water sports, thats the only topics that should be spoken off with any real merit, eg, like me, giving you advise

so, lets have a gun debate, oh, no, you dont want a debate, you want a rally, so, the threads become pointless

seabreeze is what it is,
what do you think the function of the green/red thumb?
the thumb function is about reducing people desire to be honest, sharing, its about being judged, fitting in to a prescribed opinion,
writing to appease others, as opposed to writing to appease ones self

its not a necessary function for mature debate,
abuse, i cope heaps, direct swearing etc, its always celebrated, but if you give any back, its despised, or you get banned
its like people want the fight, without the fighting.................

from where i sit, all these flare ups are caused by you and alike, mainly as a by product of your arrogance towards what life encompasses

your welcome

Just thought I'd let you know that I often use this forum to teach students about opinion and how it is communicated outside of the confines of media scrutiny. This thread created much discussion amongst a group of students today. I commend one and all for voicing their opinions which allowed us to explore several different ideas about contemporary issues such as depression, societal pressures and suicide. The banter and honest rhetoric is a perfect example of free speech, ironically RW was a champion exponent of this when he was at his best! Thankyou crew, it made for a lively learning environment, cheers!!

Very good points and before anyone else thinks I'm in 'the Milsy camp' think again!

A very valid point in the fact that most 'normal' monkeys try to fit in and post comments that are favourable to the masses.

BUT words are not just words!
There is a feel that comes across and we all miss some words or even place ones in by the subconscious mind.

Yes I did believe Milsy was attacking too, why well maybe past comments have lead me to prejudge!

I'm only just starting to recognise names here as I really just like reading my own words and think all of you are idiots! Please insert sarcasm in-between every word In this last sentence.

I guess it also showed the students that normal societal conventions fall apart with the anonymity afforded online.
IE those who troll for fun, proud of talking sh!t and say stuff they never would in person.

Ruins the forums for the normal people. Kinda like an encyclopaedia but with every second sentence full of trash talk.

your welcome,

freedom isnt moderated or judged, its expressed, pursued, shared,
its definately not restrained by terms like"normal".,
thats sounds like someones whose freedom was dictated to them, boundaries were all ready set in that caged version of freedom., restrains like fear, lack of creativity....................................

weird example of freedom
your not outside the restraints of scrutiny on this site, or this medium
