kelly's heroes
the deer hunter
the eagle has landed
generation kill
love all the other ones you guys have posted as well.
edit, forgot the big red one.
Kellys Heros has to be up there, great movie seen it sooo many times.
Enemy at the gate is another good one
Saving Private Rynn
Dambusters! Yes! Classic British stiff upper lip! Great music and restrained, British (wooden) acting.
The real Guy Gibson who led that raid was 24 at the time! 24! A mere boy!
^^^^ The Hill is an awesome, awesome film. The script, acting, and direction are absolutely sensational. A fabulous drama.
You're missing one of the most important pieces.
Cross of Iron, it's a Sam Peckinpah classic that introduced a few new things to action scenes that are all "de rigeur" now.
Also interesting in that it's not the allies.
The answer to the question "What's the Best (insert sort here) Movie Ever" is inevitable Highlander. I see no difference here.
Great Escape
Red Tails (2012)
The Right Stuff - Not really war but testing war planes.
All time Favorite.......Memphis Belle
Apocalypse Now is still the bench mark with great acting and story. Catch 22 for being totally on the mark for those who have not seen it the story goes that to get out of the military you have to be crazy. And here is the catch, to fly over enemy territory in a bomber in broad daylight, you have to be crazy. And don't forget MASH the movie.
Does "Silent Movie" count..???
Ah prairie sheet, you've got them all - I thought I might get "Iron Cross" in, but Cisco beat me.
How about "The Bridge at Remagen"...??
Crappy film, but I have been to that bridge.
Or "Fireball Forward"........
in no way the best but, we were soldiers, the lighthorsemen i loved, followed by pear harbour and memphis belle ,plenty of airplane action.
mmm now I think about it I am not sure of the best,
but the worst must surely be :
Any GoPro hero filming themselves kiting in the Pond at Safety Bay and posting it on Seabreeze.
It must classify as a war film as it is a real battleground over there.
War Horse
and best war musical
War Horse the musical
or that Quentin Tarantino one with the Germans and Jews in france
it's on the small screen but, Hogans Heros gets my vote.
A sicko pervert that make's a bad war funny. Winner in my book.
