Before somebody starts a "where did the "where did the **** XYZ topic" topic" starts, just a friendly reminder about what Seabreeze.com.au is all about.

Seabreeze is here for a good time. Watersports, humour, friendship, laughs. Nothing too serious.

Seabreeze is not about racism, politics, hatred or religious discussion.

There are squillions of sites that cater for this stuff - if you are into that kind of stuff, please visit those sites that are into it.

Seabreeze is here for pain relief. For fun. For light humour.

Enjoy ...

Under the heading 'Shooting the Breeze' it states Discuss anything & everything in here!
What does that actually mean? I am confused.

Heavyweight issues introduced by trolls seems to be the problem.

A thread that has a title that spans the entire subject is usually fairly indicative that it's going to go nowhere.

Eg "Carbon tax" - just another tax. Global warming isn't true. Julia Gillard is unusual among politicians in that things she has done are not consistent with thing she has said.

"NBN" - seems quite expensive - doesn't it? Rural people should be able to illegally torrent movies for free like city people do.

"Immigrants" - the new ones are different to the old ones but overall plane better than boat. Overall, anyone that is here now should be allowed to stay because they are already here but anyone that isn't here now should not be allowed to come because they're not here yet.

"Islam" - they cover their faces sometimes and they seem to put their countries so close to American air bases.

"Population" - we're being over run. It's probably the immigrants, the muslims, the coal users and broadband users (see four topics above)

Maybe every thread should be automatically accompanied by a link to the wikipedia search results for its title.

Gee Buzz, sometimes the topics for discussion here get very lightweight.
I know that might be appropriate for kiters and SUPpers and all but there are still some windsurfers here who are interested in discussions on life, the universe, and everything.

Meaningless light hearted banter akin to cartoon dialogue.
Issues up for discussion must not exceed the intelligence quotient of the average primary student.
Subjects that initiate questionable thinking are banned.

Pom, i think we should discuss and argue your points in detail.

Do you reckon we can get this post locked?

So where did the "Palestinian NBN vs the Catholic Labor party thread go"? I was looking forward to offering my balanced and sensible viewpoints on that topic

Personally I like reading about politics and current events - and particularly amongst a group of people who are connected by something other than their political leanings. Get a much broader range of opinions that way.
Agree that anything racist or hate mongering should go.
Don't see why religion has to be on the banned list though - it can be discussed in a polite and reasonable fashion.

Sorry Laurie my bad

BUT I still submit that juvenile-minded idiot trolls coming online just to stir sh!t again and again and again is worse than adults starting a discussion concerning the big 3 (religion, politics, and the other one whatever it is.... oh yeah, brands of beer.)

Yes yes, that is it. We can make fun of the heavy weight issues. Deride them with our self absorbed wit. But remember, no meaningful debate.

Clouds are the way of the future. It's in the NBN thread.

I dunno what they are but they sound cool.

Sorry, missed that one. Nobody complained about it.

Also, in those immortal words ... "It's all about the vibe". Fair play in still in effect, and yes, some topics go on until somebody brings them to the moderators attention that they're getting nasty. (We can't read everything).

Seabreeze is all about good times.

Yes, it's lightweight.

Mates having a laugh.

Plenty of other places to get your serious face on, bust a vein & solve the worlds problems.

Respect, friendship, good times .. happy days.

p.s. Category description has been updated .. thanks
