And I thought Kelly Slater was good a couple of days ago wining his 11th. The man could possible win 2 in a week. That's some effort.

But seriously the ASP has a lot to answer for. Surfing's try to be more relevant in the broad sports landscape then this happens, it's going to produce a lot of sceptic's to bag the surfing culture and to claim that it's not a fair dinkum sport.

WORLD surfing's governing body has admitted Kelly Slater was prematurely crowned world champion in San Francisco this week because they made a rankings calculation blunder.

Slater will now have to win one more heat at either the current event in San Francisco or at the final contest of the year at Pipeline in Hawaii to clinch the world title for a record 11th time
