Ok - so there's been little wind and lotsa angst (he he - speaking personally) on the SB forums so here's a chance to share a stoke.
Sure there is plenty of big issues to yarn about at the mo - and it helps to air contrasting views etc, but there should also be a time n place for celebrating the good stuff.

So here goes.
Friend of wife's passed away this week. very sad, but a relief for her after a long illness. 
Had to take a good hard look at my fam and (despite hovering around brokeness continually) life is good. Very kn good. How lucky I am living in our tiny home, a few kms from an unpoluted ocean, with 2 healthy kids and a lovely (although stroppy today
) wifey I'd happily snuggle at the slightest opportunity!
Had my 1st proper booger sesh with my eldest kiddy recently, where he actually wanted to get amongst it and charged out into the knee high mush ahead of me. Have tried not to push him into sports and water, and at last he has a taste for it himself. Great fun riding the mush side by side. Hope I remember it when I'm crinkly.
Life actually is good.
Went home today to have lunch with missus & 3 week old bub...
Got bub out of cot to gently wake her for a play & feed...bub goes for a big stretch & overfills nappie with some form of mustard-like ooze that smells like several rotting corpses. No probs, dad's here!
Changed nappie, managed to keep work clothes clean, sat back down, and as I did, she gave me the biggest smile (for those that are in the know, babies apparently don't smile for at least 4 weeks?!?), so...ended up wearing regurgitated 3hr old mum's milk!
If you've got kids you know that regardless of how disgusting, you wouldn't swap these moments for anything!
My girl (Grace) is 6 months today, cut her first tooth yesterday and sitting up by her self, pitty I dont get to see her that much but I am seeing her today

And maybe get used to a future with happy mustard packages! Boy those were some fun juggling!
Just got back from trip to the north west with wife and daughter - spent most of the time at Exmouth. Went inland first to Mount Augustus and climbed it - 6hr return trip - but well worth it.
Caught a few waves, lots of swimming and snorkeling, daughter stood on paddle board and all just chilled out.
As I was I away, I lent my Dockers season ticket to an Eagles supporter - who I supect enjoyed himself a bit more than he is letting on
Went for a surf with my youngest son (12). We paddled out the back and sat there as the sun came up. Didn't have to say much.
Topped out on a 17 climb with my eldest son (25), he works as a climbing instructor and mountaineering guide. On the drive home I heard him tell a mate that he had just "dragged" his old man to the top of Hells Wall.
Lent my windsurfing kit to my middle son (23) when he flew back home for a visit from W.A. after a windsurfing/working up North safari. He unrigged after I came back in.
Woke up in bed next to my wife this morning. I figure that must be about the 10,000th time that has happened.
When i have not had a sail or a SUP surf in a while and work is turning to ****e(most days)
i just look at this photo. My daughter turned 1 last week. It really makes you look at the bigger picture.
Nah - was good to get to a game, bonus being a nail biter. Always love a good game of footy. Ta again Mr Diver.

yesterday i watched the windsurfing movie on tv with all of my kids. i was asked which one was me. 
today i got 25 knots.

I always vowed and still continue to do that I would be the best father. That to me meant that I would be the best in the world or World Champion..... Looks like I've got a bit of competition, I am prepared to accept equals.
And without crossing the line on the original forum rules I gotta say some blokes look like they have mighty fine wives as well.
Here is the mum, fair while back. 
Here is the best feel good story I have ever had the fortune to hear.
I will try to put into words as it was played out on drive tonight 6PR radio in Perth. For those who may have caught it, if I stuff a few sequences up, please forgive me.
This is how Mum relayed the story on radio.
A young couple had booked into hospital for Mum to give birth to twins, a little girl and a little boy. Twins were early, and when she gave birth, the little girl was fit and healthy, but the little boy was in deep sh1t, and looked to all, that no level of medical intervention would save his life.
The medico’s explained this to the young family and what to expect with the passing of the baby boy. As you can appreciate, both Mum and Dad were deeply saddened at the prospect of loosing their Son so soon after birth.
The hospital staff returned the baby boy to his Mum who placed him on here chest.
Mum did say that at the time she was running a fever, and to her his little body felt very very cold.
Not long after this, the little bloke wet all over his Mum, which according to the Doc when they sent a question, was to be expected.
Dad sat down next to his wife and Son, and placed his hand close to his Sons, the little tacker gripped his Dads outstretched finger. Once again, they asked the Doc via relayed message and same answer, this was to be expected in death.
Mum said that some short time later, she noticed her little boys eyes open and close, this was followed by Mum starting to lactate. She believes that shortly after his eyes opened quickly, like he could smell Mums milk. She placed some on her finger and put the finger near his mouth, he started to lick the milk from her finger.
Mum kept this up for a while then once again asked the Doctor via relayed message to come back to observe, he didn’t and reiterated, that these things can be expected in Death.
Mum and Dad both then asked the midwife to have the Doc return to explain once more what to expect in Death, the Doc did return, sat down next to the Dad and spent about 15 minutes explaining what both parents should expect. By this time some two hours had passed, and Mum asked, “if its two hours since you handed me my Son, why is he still moving and licking milk from my fingers, and still gripping his Dads finger”
The Doc asked the Midwife for a stethoscope, listed to the little tackers heart, was stunned to say the least, asked the Midwife to listen, they both were shocked to the core, grabbed the little bloke and rushed him back to the Hume crib next to his Sister.
Today the little bloke isn’t yet 12 months old, hammering along full bore, with no apparent issues. The parents won’t know for some time yet if he has any lasting detrimental affects from his ordeal
The only explanation the Doc could give as to why he didn’t return to the room when the questions kept coming to him was pride, as he was sure that death was right there with the little tacker.
So as a Dad and a parent, that’s just bloody huge
^^^ saw that on the telly-o-vision through the week. Recently having our 3rd, it was pretty tough to watch, but the doc prob was trying to seperate himself from the 'grieving' parents. In the end, apparently he stepped up though.
Similarly, my sister-in-law had an aneurism the week before easter this year and my brother took her straight to the hospital. The doctor told her it was just a strong migrane and that she should go home to sleep it off...luckily an intern was persistent that it was NOT a migrane & requested the doc gave her a CT scan, which he agreed to reluctantly.
Within the hour she on a fixed-wing heading to Melbourne to undergo emergency surgery, where they took half her skull off! Bro & sis-in-law don't hold any bad blood against the doc, just happy the intern was on his game.
She's recovered to nearly 100% now, with the only side-affects of no sense of smell & taste...she's happy to live with that!
