i got a good tip for go pros - fogging makes em look sooo crap - give the screen a big slow lick just before you shoot if you dunked it in the water - can work a treat.. - warms up the out surface so temp difference isnt so much
I have gopro silver been a good camera got it farthers day last year, use it most when kiteing rinsing it we'll after each use today camera would not power up so when I got home opened case to find fair amount of water in it always cleaned housing so there goes$350 let's see what they say about warranty today, on a good note great to see 50 to 60 kites out at sandgate and Brighton yesterday
I have had my go pro hero 3+ black edition for a year or so and recorded about 20 sessions and I have never experienced fogging... But...It's a bitch when there is water droplets on the casing lens area!!!
It actually did fix it - i was fiiming 2 weeks ago and as soon as i licked the screen - the picture is back to being unfogged - i got the footy somewhere.. licking the gopro screen is pretty big in the surfing selfie world!
i think i heard of stuffing nappy material in anywhere it will fit, putting in fridge prior to session - longer with no fogging
nothing sux more than 1080p of your most epic session looking like it was filmed on a toaster in 1995!
Condensation on the outside - or more likely, water drops or film - isn't fogging inside the case licking is like Rain-X on the outside, and yes I've tried that and Fog-X inside too.
Anyone try SJ4000?
It cost me only NT$2,500.
Less than US$100.
The quality is good enough for its price.
I ended up getting the black gopro. Need to work out how to attatch it to my kite now! Now just need some wind!!
I've got to add it really depends what you want the camera for. If it's for swimming around in the water or mounting on your lines then it's probably the best cheapest option for you. However, if you plan on doing absolutely anything else there's cameras that cost less and will yield a far better end result.
Ive not used that one but if your camera came with a head strap you can modify the strap to fit a centre kite strut, jump on you tube, theres a heap of vids on how to do the modification and once you finished you can always put the head strap back together the original way and use it as designed.
Works really well and fits on different sz struts also.
Coles have those knock off gopro's for $45 or close to it.
Ask at the smoke counter!
For anyone on a budget, they work good enough.
Go pro 3+ black is just perfect, I'm using antifog RainX inside to fix the fog issue :

and the RainX classic outside
