Respect to Dimitri, his videos helps me 100% for doing new tricks.. Still are!!!
Keep up the good work man!!
Dimitri on Seabreeze how cool is this!
Yeah a fresh take on some "locals" pushing their wares disguised as "advice".
Hey Dim, do you have a distributor here in Australia?
Dimitri
Have you ever thought about setting up a King of Air 'Flat water'... a pure height category and an old school category.
The dynamics of a flat water boost, would be a real game changer compared to having an easy ramp to launch from..
An open age comp - as some of us are too old, as luck has it to enter the Red Bull one.

Asked and answered.
I can tell you for a fact that Dimitri's customer service is better than your locals advice too.
I always understood that if you're touching the ground or water you can't really "kiteloop" your kite, you're meerly "downturning" it or at best "underlooping" it.
A "kiteloop" for me is any jump where your kite loops (as named by the first guys to do it Jeff Tobias etc.). These words on the front (i.e. mega) are meaningless as there is no clear depiction of height. Hence why you don't have "megabackmobes", "ultraraleys", etc, etc. What people claim as a "megaloop" now days is exactly the same as what a "kiteloop" was originally.
Personally I think it's a shame Dimitri can't get in the RKOTA, he's sic as.
That's a blast from the past
Jeff tobias, ripping it up down Esperance
Hahahahaha...My good old friend Jeff Tobias. I use to ride AIRUSH when he was riding for SLINGSHOT. He was an amazing rider and still is.
Is that board a lost cause Colin McCullough he's on,
Dimitri

Hello SaveTheWhales,
Having such a competitions will be a real game changer. Taking off using a ramp makes you go way higher and do more crazy tricks. But using a ramp to launch requires better timing so you can hit the ramp at the perfect time. Personally I love taking off using a ramp but again it's hard to find places where you can use a ramp to take off. So having a KING OF THE AIR using flat water is much easier to have but again it all depends of the wind.
Also people putting kiteboarding events have to understand that competitions is for every body not just for the young kiters (15 to 24 years old). Most of these guys don't pay for the gear, they have sponsors or have their parents pay for the equipment. So who buys the Kite equipment!!!
Well kiters that buys the Kite equipment are between the age of (25 to 75). These are the kiters that pays for their gear and they are a larger majority of the kiteboarding community.
Why do you think FOIL RACING or RACING using race boards are bringing more kiters into the scene!!! This is because it is an open class and any body can enter. Of course you will have different class and age groups like tennis does and this will take more time to run a competition. But also competing in RACING is not as dangerous as competing in FREESTYLE. And that is probably why a lot of (35 +++ years old) kiters rather compete in RACING.

Hello caunsy,
Are you talking about my friend Colin who use to shape for AIRUSH and LOSTCAUSEBOARDS? This guy was very unique and amazing shaper. He left us a long time ago. Very sad.

Yep , still got a board of his, he had a cult following in the uk, Hadlow until recent was still riding a board influenced by him , Ali Barrett and plenty of others, unfortunately the big C chose him
Had to stick a wetsuit back on,finding that kite loops can really nail your undercrackers in boardies??.
Since we are talking kiteloops.
I was trying back mobes yesterday and by total error, I handed a unhooked double back roll- kite-loop
Stomped the landing.
I love it when you land things you went trying, and probably never had any chance of nailing anyway.

So did you pass the bar or not?
With the awesome original vid, hopefully I'll be able to progress past Kookloops this season.
What's a kook loop sibbo :-)
When you have all 3 of the following points mastered.
Not having enough wind, so using too big a kite.
Not having the right big kite, so using a dedicated surf kite that doesn't have any power through turns.
Being a wimp and not pulling the trigger (pin) early enough.
what about line length... whats best to learn proper kite/mega loops on? cheers gt.
Well it all depends on how high you want to go and how strong the wind is.
My suggestion will be to start with 22 meter lines and then once you get comfortable with your kiteloops then go with 20 meter lines.
Now if you want your kite to be way lower then you then use 15 meter lines or 18 meter lines.
Remember the whip will be more violent then when you are using 22m or 20m lines.

cheers, i guess i am at that point where i just need to man up and pull the trigger when i am in the air i dont think there is an in between easy on water, or edge of the window loops and committing mid jump with a powered loop deep in the window.

You just need to commit on pulling your back hand. If you don't commit and pull that bar you will get into trouble. So start slowly and once you get comfortable with the pull go higher and higher. Again make sure it's not gusty conditions out there because this is when things go wrong.
when learning these powered loops, I eventually had to quantify when to pull, to avoid the body and minds evolutionary instinct to protect itself from harm....
so this worked for me...
as I released...on the back foot stamp counted 1 thousand,
then on the 2 thousand I pulled no matter what...
o I don't need to do this anymore, but for me, quantifying it helped with commitment, although if my timing gets messed up I go back to it now and then.
Its one of those counter intuitive moves...
the more power you have, the higher you go, the quicker and harder you loop...
the safer it is....
weird hey
Guys,
You have to understand that in order to do these moves you see in the videos or in real life, I had to go through a lot of crashes and a lot of pain.
So if few words, I am not SUPERMAN.
This video might help you understand what I am talking about.
Guys,
So if few words, I am not SUPERMAN.
Hahaha, are u sure???
One of the big advantages of using foot straps is being able to kick that board away when coming in for a crash landing....also picking ur legs up out of the way to avoid snapping ankles and tearing ligaments....
rather get an enema than a bad injury.
Just out of interest, what sort of injuries have u had?

Hello Gilly3,
Are you sure you want to know the injuries I've had?
